Have had 4.56 gears since April of '06 and my cruise still works fine. If you think about how a cruise control works (vacuum powered actuator that on our throttle-by-wire trucks is controlled electronically by the PCM), there is no way physically changing gears effects the cruise control.

Mine is an '04. You've probably got a vacuum line leak possibly caused when working on your truck, but I don't see where it's possible a gear swap can effect your cruise control. It's kinda like saying you developed a steering wobble after you changed out a tail light...

I have had two gear changes (new and used) and never had a cruise control issue before.

Never heard the cruise not work that directly points to a gear change or specifically a 4.56 swap (dodge ram platform). Always a first though since we all know how marvel our trucks are lol.

That said i had mine go off last year around 30-40mph. This happened a few months after my 2800 stall install. Ended up being low tranny fluid, so i topped it up and its been cruise-controlling ever since. Loopy i know!
