well you do have the most loaded version of the Rams and its a 4-door... doesnt help much in a race against a SC, no matter what brand.

 

I was heading home from Georgia the other day and I had a full tank, old heavy Craftsman edger, my friend, guns, gear and everything else in my truck. I pulled up to a stop light and saw a Hyundai XG 350 next to me. It was a husband and wife. The light turned green and I just started off with a dentle roll on the accelerator to get up to speed. I guess the guy next to me thought I was racing him because I hear his 6 starting to wind up tighter and tighter. I eventually just put my foot in it and walked away from him. I slow down a bit as I am speeding a little too much for my liking when he rolls up next to me and looks over. His wife is yelling at him. We are doing about 60 or so and he goes for it again. I laugh and put my foot in it and leave hime again. I back off to about 70 or so when, can you believe this, he tries again. Needless to say I don't have anything to prove and let him go, while his wife is yelling at him and all I smell is his cats working over time. Good times, man, good times.

As a side note, on the way home I spotted and took a picture of a cool old Mini set up for racing that was being trailered.

 

yeah I know i'm a heavy pig but it was not to bad of a race considering the size difference between the 2 trucks. i'm quite sure a RC will not have to much of a problem

 

The only race I had with a chevy was a 2500 with a 8.1 with 4.10 rears and that sucker could run. Neither of us could pull away because the stop lights were so close together but just be careful if you tie into one of those... Im not going to say it was faster or mine was faster but it was very close.

 

I have gone at it with just about everything in the Stock 1500 QC class - most of the time the other guys models cant catch my truck. The Titan was left sleeping at the white line, the Ford was off the line with me, but I was gone after 2nd. The Silverado stayed with me about 1/2 a body length back.

Now ... I did try to hit it wiff a few RC's. I got off the line with them, but I was all done after that. Some of the same behavior with the 2500 class.

Im not a race guy or a mechanic. Im a data communication professional. When I see these guys come up to the line, I wait fer the green and stand on that pedal -- I do mean stand - right down to the floor. The entire front end of the truck lifts up about 2 inches, the tach hits about 2500 to 3000 and shes off. Ha ! Ha ! WOODY CITY !!!!!

The only problem ... I was in West Palm during the last poke ... I had the tailgate off because I was pulling the camper ... the Ford took me on this one.

Had to stop to pick up the stroller that slide out of the bed... no use bent to sh_t .... had to buy a new one ... kiddies had fun said "thats cool dad, lets do it again!!" .... hag said "CHRIS BLAH BLAH <put nasty words here >BLAH BLAH BLAH !! "

 

I've still got bruises on my right leg from the first time I raced with my wife in the car. I thought they would go away after 30 years![sm=chairshot.gif]

 

I had one try me one day several weeks ago and it did OK. The RC Hemi will take it though.

 

this is all I have to say....I have street raced 2 chevys (SS, silverado), 3 fords 150's v8, 2 titans, 1 nissan, few cars, and a toyo, with hemi killer on the windshield.......
score to date, 2 spanked chevys, 3 wounded fords, slapped titans, nissan done, and the toyo, well lets just say, he sees me all the time, and looks the other way......

Im not sayin im bad, shes just a truck, but shes a DAMN GOOD TRUCK........
by the way, did get my *** whipped by a 454 chevy 4wd.....build, and pullin some big HP... spanked me and I told him so...very impressed.....
so far spanked one ford 05 with tricks at the strip, and soon as Im better, will be there again to mod, and play with some trucks there....

The FACT is a CHEVY Silverado VHO would beat a Quad Cab Ram by a truck length EASY in the 1/4. They are running 15.00 to 14.8x from the factory, toss in the fact that there is NO limit to the available mods, ranging from headers, cams, strokerkits, lap top programable PCMs, and the list goes on. Dollar per Dollar the VHO will spank the HEMI... and im not a chevy fan what so ever.

You guys that have raced the SS... try racing a VHO Silverado... you will lose if its stock for stock. Now I do think they are lighter than the RAM and this could be an advantage... but if you see one on the road, you should be ready. Now a MODDED HEMI running better than 14.8x in the 1/4 should be able to beat one... but if he is modded then he will again eat you for lunch.
