Friend thinks Chevy is just as fast as HEMI!

Also beware of the Ford Lightning...hurt my feelings really bad.

My last 2 trucks were Fords and I have to say that for them being the best selling trucks, they aren't that tough.
The last one I had went through 4 outter tierods, both upper and lower balljoints and the tranny started slipping at under 100k miles. Not to mention the power locks and mirrors only worked on certain days. Everyone I know had similar problems with similar models. I didn't even mention broken springs as well as rust after only 3 years. These truck owners all drive in similar roads with no off roading too by the way.
I am now the proud owner of a Dodge after doing lots of research and after less than a month of ownership, I can tell the difference as far as it being a solid worktruck as well as an everyday driver. Plus it's fast as hell![8D]

I was at the stoplight the other day leaving base when one of those little S-10 Xtreme's or whatever pulled up next to me. Little bastard was all revving his little ricer pipe and everything. Light turned green and he floored it. I could hear that little thing whining all the way up the road as I started to accelerate. I looked back in the mirror and verified that the dryer I was bringing home in the bed was still secured. I looked at his little truck and thought: "There's no WAY he'd fit this dryer in that little truck...".
Yeah, I love my truck.
Yeah, I love my truck.
I've owned both a 03 z71 extended cab 5.3, and now own a quad cab hemi 4x4. THe chevy was totaled or i would still be driving it, it was a solid built truck and was quick. I have had many friends that owned z71s identical to my set-up and they are quick. I have lost to two chevys and beat two. on some days the outcome varries but these trucks get their power to the floor alot quick then the dodge does. we all have exhaust mods and i'm only running 3.55 gears, and the two i lost to have both 4.10 and 3.73 gear ratios. every truck is built different and there are variables each day. I still like my dodge better, but chevys are no joke.
I took on my buds 04 Burb and took him with ease!
About 2 months ago however we raced our other trucks his is a 78 side step chev 350 and mine is an 80 3/4 ton standard with a 350. We were neck and neck until we hit a corner when I did a 180 but managed to keep it out of the ditch!
javascript:void(AddText('[8D]'))I'm loven all the trucks as my wife has the o5 Daytona, I have the 80 GMC and I'm rebuilding a 71 c-10 with my students at the school I teach at.

Horsepower doesn't mean anything if you can't put it to the pavement and hook up....i've seen plenty of races ranging from friends to drags....the hemi has it's pluses and so does a chevy....but i've seen a a stock chevy 4.8 smoke a hemi with ease, but then i've seen that same chevy have a hard time keeping up with a grandma car....somedays you got it other days you don't.
If you saw a stock Chevy 4.8 smoke a Hemi, maybe you were smoking something. The only way that's possible is if the Dodge had a lift and 35" tires.
I have owned a Ford and Chev. full size trucks but my last 3 trucks were Dodge Rams. It was time for a new truck. I can pretty much buy/ spend whatever I want so I test drove everything. Chevy has without a doubt, "The worst build quality" PERIOD! It looks and feels like a "Old man's truck"
Ford has a good interior but build quality is'nt much better than the Chev and the motor is'nt in the same league as the HEMI. The Dodge Ram still is the best overall full size truck in Power, Brakes, and Build quality. Its also was the fastest by my seat-of-the pants dyno.
The hype aint lying...."The Hemi Ram Rules"

And I thought trucks were for hauling, off roading and work, silly me.
