Also, don't cut the plastic bumper piece. Look up underneath and pop the tabs back out so you can gain enough access to the upper bolts without having to cut the plastic.
Damn, wish I'd looked closer. I cut mine as the directions indicated and use the trim piece that came with it. I would have preferred not to cut, but Oh well - It looks ok.

all set. bolted up looks great. fun fishing the bolts in there, that took the longest. i guess some people like the look of the cover for the bolts, and others don't based on people saying not to cut it. i think the cover looks ok on there, it could look worse..... overall came out great, thanks for the help and advice to all!

i cut it because i wanted to use the cover. personal preference i guess....

This thread is really old but I have a question. Where did you get this hitch? What is it rated for? I am looking for a class 3 or 4 hitch for my 05 and this looks cheap and easy.

This thread is really old but I have a question. Where did you get this hitch? What is it rated for? I am looking for a class 3 or 4 hitch for my 05 and this looks cheap and easy.
You can get it at your dealer or you can get it at one of the vendors. It is just the Mopar hitch that is held on with 4 huge grade 8 bolts. The hitch is rated at 600/6000 and 1200/12000 with WD equipment.
