06-08 EVIC query
I know it can be done, because members of this forum have done it before, but they all seem to disappear before lending any relevant information. In theory, I think this would be really simple: replace my stock OTIS with an EVIC of similar year range (06-08). I would go so far as to assume that it would simply plug right in. But before I go junk yard diving for an 06-08 RAM Laramie with one of these still in-tact, is there any other information anyone here can provide me? A part number maybe? Any help from someone with experience in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
And before anyone jumps the gun, keep in mind that '06+ is CANBUS, so the 3rd gen instructions for this mod prior to '06 are not applicable in this situation.

Does anyone know if the CANbus equipped Durango's EVIC can be swapped into a RAM?
I found one for cheap on ebay, but I can barely make out the part number from the picture. It does not appear to be the exact same part number as the RAM though.

Well here's another oddity: looking at the part numbers for the '08, they don't specify EVIC or not. Just with or without garage door opener. I've seen OTIS modules with the garage door opener, so I don't believe there is a part number for an '08 EVIC module. WTH. To be honest, I've never personally SEEN an '06-08 RAM with the EVIC module, so maybe an exact part does not exist? As soon as I'm done with work, I'm gonna go pull down my OTIS and see what its model number is. If it's 56049824AC, then I may not even be searching for the right thing.

Just so everyone is clear, here is a photo of what my OTIS looks like:
As seen here, 56049824AD is its part number:
This part number is not listed in the '08 part number service book, which confounds me to no end. Here is my theory: the '07 Durango part ended in "AC", as do the two parts listed in the parts list for the '08 RAM, which COULD mean that the parts listed are for the EVIC. Now, I'm going to blow holes in my theory by saying that all EVIC modules come with homelink. Does anyone have access to a Dodge database that shows pictures for the two part numbers posted earlier? That would be a tremendous help!
**edit**
Also, searching all three part numbers on www.mopar-wholesale.com reveals that they all have very similar prices, leading me to further believe they are all OTIS modules. The '07 Durango EVIC with part number 56046038AC is well over double the price.
