Default where is external vent?

I searched and found some similar questions but no definate answer. My re-circ door is broken and my a/c is not working as good as it could be for two reasons. 1. no re-circ mode and 2. I am getting hot air coming in below the glove box at highway speeds because its getting outside air rushing in since its in permanent external mode, like having a window open.
I wanted to block off the outside external vent but not sure where it is. I assume somewhere near the cowel/windshield wiper area? Is it easy to find. I can start removing parts but if someone knows exactly where it is on an 06 Ram that would be great.

Thanks for the links. For some reason I am never able to view photos that show the little box with the red X in the middle. I looked into this several times in the past and none of the fixes allows me to see photos but the other link you sent, I was able to see the photos.
I think I am just going to go below the dash on passenger side and somehow put the broken re-circ door over the external vent that I can see (as opposed to trying to find it from the engine compartment) since it may be easier that way. I saw some people used duct tape but that that did not last long. Others propped it in there with a piece of dowel rod.

Its frustrating to have such a nice vehicle and have to deal with such a headache all because of a poor design. Not blaming Dodge as I know every manufacturer has common problems but nonetheless, it's still frustrating, especially when it broke 2 weeks after I bought it.

thanks for the links..

It should draw air from under the cowl cover. Can you block it off inside where the blower is?

From what I read elsehwere I am pretty sure the vent near the blower that is along the firewall is the the one I would need to block off.
It seems hard to get to from when I was in there removing my broke re-circ door.
Its been too hot and humid (upper 90's) for me to get down there and mess with it but once it cools down a bit I am going to see if I can stuff a smal towel in there to block off some of the air flow. I will post my findings. thanks

Good luck. It's been miserably hot here too. Just make sure whatever you use to block it off won't come loose and get sucked into the blower.

Same problem here! Just removed that dang door and now I need to find a way to block off the outside air. All it does is bring in heat and smell. Has anyone found a way to block this off yet? I can't believe dodge didn't do anything to help ppl having this issue. It was an obvious design flaw.

I blocked my intake from the outside. My recirc door is actually missing. Really, I searched everywhere for it but couldn't find it. So, since I couldn't use it to block the fresh from the inside, that was my only solution. The intake is located under the plastic cowl. Loosen the two screws that hold it from the top. No need to remove wipers, as you just need to lift it a few inches. Remove the plastic clips under the hood. On passenger side of cowl, lift and prop it up with a piece of wood or whatever.
You will see a foil covered adhesive rubber covering a hole in the steel. Gently remove it. Now you will see the screened intake. Barely. I used foil HVAC tape. Cut it into strips, and stuck it right to the screen. Your hands will get a little bloody doing this, as the screen is larger than what you can see, and the opening is just large enough to get a hand in. Really pisses me off that I have a $40k truck and this is what I have to deal with.
