Will this hitch work to tow an Altima?
So in late July I will be towing a Nissan Altima from GA to KY with my 04 Ram 1500, 2 WD, 4.7 V8. I do not have a hitch/reciever yet and found this one on JC Whitney. Will this be fine for what I'm doing and is it as easy to install as the reviews say? Thanks.

Class 3 hitches are good for like 5k pounds so it would work, but if you look under your truck is there a round tube behind the bumper? If so, you just need the receiver which is like $100-$150 and you can have a class IV instead
Only problem is I think the class III can only do like 500lbs tongue weight and depending on the trailer, you could be over that.

I will most likely use a flat bed trailer.

Just remember that a full trailer weighs a lot more than a dolly so you'll be towing that much more bulk. We're talking an extra 1500-2000 lbs.
On the other hand, you can't back up (not even 1 inch) once a car is loaded onto a rental dolly so that could be an issue.

You're probably looking at more weight than it's designed to handle. Trailer and car will probably be in the 5,000 #+ range. Not sure about the tongue weight.
I wouldn't pull a car on a full trailer with a class III, plus I think with the bar already there, you can't install it either.
All you should need is this:

which should only be about a $115 item at the dealer. It'll give you the full towing capacity of the truck (with WD hitch, tranny cooler, etc.) and should easily tow the Altima w/trailer...
Oh, you'll probably need the trailer light harness as well, but it's cheap...
