Slackjaw, we have the exact same truck. The reason I endorsed the Hell Bent is because I was able to lift my truck for $80.00. The exact same lift with other companies is $225.00. Big difference. If you only go 2.5" or less you can even keep the same shocks although I replaced mine with Bilsteins which ride soo much better than stock.

 

I am also planning on leveling my 2002 4x4 reg cab, I was planning on just cranking the stock keys up to level, which is 2 inches. I was mainly wondering if I need to replace my front shocks or not. I don't mind it, mainly because a leveling kit is 120 or so, and new shocks for the front is 100, so new shocks or not I'm happy.

 

Get the shocks (or at least relocation brackets for your existing ones), you can "get by" with the stock shocks but the over-extending will shorten the life considerably and they may bottom out at times...

 

Is there a DIY for turning the torsion keys on a 06 4x4 or anything similar?

 

As stated by Hammer earlier in this very thread, only '02-05 4x4 have the torsion bars. For an '06, your best bet is the Bilstein leveling struts.
