Default Man, I need new seats in the 2008 Ram 1500 (PICS)

Hello all. I recently purchased a 2008 Ram 1500 2WD. I love the truck (my first pickup). However, the seats in this thing are a problem for me and my size. They are simply too small and narrow (pic below).

When I bought the truck, an attendant at the dealership, when bringing it to me, damaged the passenger side mirror...oops. While waiting the couple of days to get it fixed, they loaned me a 2006 Ram 1500 SLT (don't really know many more details about the loaner). The seats in this truck were so much wider and more comfortable. They were also electric, but I'm not really concerned about that.

I need to replace these seats. Its my only hangup about an otherwise very enjoyable truck. What are my options? I've been on ebay w/o much success. If I were to start looking at salvage yards and the like, which trucks (other than a 2008 1500) should I look into? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Any seats from an '02 to an '09, or possibly '10, will work.

That's just what I wanted to know. Thanks, Brandon.

You found a truck with wider seats? I've seen cloth and leather but they're all the same basic width.

I'm 6' 2" and 300 lbs and the seats fit me just fine.

I thought all of the seats were pretty much the same. Besides needing new foam in my drivers side I believe they are super comfortable at 200 lbs 6 ft.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I definitely cannot say for sure what the measurements were for the seats in the '06 loaner I had, but it was night and day as far the apparent size comfort. When seated in the seats I have now, often a part of my left thigh hangs over the seat. It almost feels as if I am balancing atop the seat instead of sitting in it (if you know what I mean).

I am 6'4 and 350 lbs. I noticed a huge difference between the two. Still looking for what I believe was in that '06.

Also, I called the local Dodge dealer and he stated that the Rams were equipped with 2 different kind of seats...buckets and split benches. is this true?

My work truck is an 08 with cloth seats. I find them to be very flat and wide, very uncomfortable. I'm 6' and 200lbs. My personal truck in an 05 with cloth and the seats form to my body much nicer than the newer 08 seats. Obviously you're a bigger boy than me so I wouldn't recommend the 05 seats, but unfortunately I can't suggest which ones to get. Could it be that the loaner 06 seats were more 'worn out' and used thus feeling wider?

'02-05 did not use the same seats as '06-08, just as new seats were created for the '09+ models. Regardless of console, all of the 3rd gens had bucket seats for driver and passenger. I don't know of any model, including the ST, that came with even a partial bench in the front. While none of the seats were the "same", they all mount the same, and can be swapped throughout the 3rd gen, and for sure '09 ('10 is not verified, but they likely mount the same as the '09s do).

Actually, the idea that perhaps the '06 sets were possibly "broken in" more occurred to me earlier today, but I dunno.

Brandon, IIRC these seats look just like the ones that were in the '06!

Its difficult to tell completely from this pic, but they appear to look wider...as if the seat kinda flares out toward the front. The newer ones, or at least the ones that I have, seem to be straighter/narrower...w/o any flare.

But these were not available for the '06??
