Default EGR hemi question

I asked about 2005 hemi motors a week or so ago, now I'm back with another question about gen III hemis in general.

I have heard that some hemis have an EGR in one of the cylinder heads. Does anyone know what years and/or models have this? And if it's not in the head, where else would it be? Or do some motors not have an EGR at all?

Thanks in advance guys.

Thanks man.
I don't have a hemi yet, I'm in the planning stages for a project and trying to get as much info as possible. Most of the engines I've looked at are just online so it's hard to inspect. My main concern is PCM compatibility, are there any sensors involved in an EGR setup?

Do the truck hemis have them, or is it a car thing.. or vice versa? Is it more of a year related thing? or just random lol.

So I can choose a motor with EGR or without? Which is the better setup?

thanks again to all you motorheads out there, any info is appreciated.

03s dont have EGRs but 04+ does unless its a 2500. No 2500 has them

A replacement EGR is about $40

ok, so I found a good pic of one, it will be easier to spot a motor with or without one now. can it damage the cats without an egr?

I will try to find a motor without one, but if push comes to shove, I can use a billet deletion plate I found on shophemi.com. I will need a custom SCT tune for this project anyways, so I think i will be fine without the egr. I honestly don't know of my 4.7 has one, I will have to check..

thanks again for letting me pick your brains.

Well I just looked, found an EGR valve on the back of my 4.7.. and also checked my local laws for engine swaps in newer vehicles. I will have to have an engine with EGR to be "legal" since my truck is vin'd for one.

Just pull it off plug it and get a custom tune to negate the effects the pcm does to your air fuel ratio
