Default Rear diff

Serviced rear diff ,04 hemi qc @ 45,000 , found the dreaded broken clutch retainer clip!
3 of 4 still in place, no damage yet ! What a poor design !

I have to agree with you 100% i went around to quite a few shops getting quotes around 1500-2000 just for a rebuild, it wasnt hard for them to come up with the problem i just wasnt going to pay 2000 for a rebulid though. So after 3 months of driving with that tore up rear end i found a shop thats been in service for almost 70 years and quite a good rep, and walked out with a completly new rear end for 800. I was shocked when he walked me over to my old rear end and picked that part out and handed it to me then he pointed at a whole line of tore up dodge rear ends.

Should have been recalled and refitted with a auburn . I sure can't afford this right now . 45,000 miles un f ing believable , the silverado sitting in my garage has 219,000 no problems

NHTA is catching up to them, but taking 10yrs. I had a '00 Silverado and the spider gears in the open diferntial were all wormed out and chewed up at just 71kmi. Always an issue with something...
