Exclamation 08 Hemi wont rev over 2000 rpm?

I have an 08 1500 Hemi with 96,000 miles, and in Park it wont rev over 2000 rpm. While driving if I gas it, its all sluggish. Its almost acting like its not getting enough fuel. Some one please help me out. Thanks.

Your truck has a rev limiter while in park/neutral so you won't blow your motor...
Take it out on the freeway and get on it and see if it revs past 2k...
When was the last time it had a tune-up i.e. new plugs, egr and tb cleaning?

My bad, I missed the "while in Park" part. Yeah, I agree - it's hitting the limiter. Sluggish on the road almost always means neglect of maintenance. For example - are you cleaning the throttle body at least every 30k miles? Plugs at 30k? EGR? etc, etc, etc...

I had this problem about 3 weeks ago. It was caused by low system voltage. The first time it happened there was no cel at all and i turned the truck off and back on and it was fine. but the next day it did it again with a cel.I had a bad battery which wouldn't fully charge. I replaced the battery and everything has been perfectly fine

2 grand rev limited in park. Doesn't sound right to me. Agree may need some maintenance.

The trucks do a rev limit when in P or N, but like others, Im curious as to what maintenance has been done since it has these high miles on it

I understand about the rev limiter. Its not 2 grand. It does sound like it needs some maintenance.

Bad batterys will cause crazy things like Nathan said, start simple like Tb cleaning plugs, simple cheap stuff first
