Body lift and tire q's
I'm looking at putting a 3in body lift on my truck, i was wondering if a 37x13.5r17 would fit? I'm pretty sure a 37x12.5r17 would fit, wasn't sure about a little wider tire. I was also told with 37's I should be changing the gears or I will blow up the tranny, just wondering if that is true. I've pretty much narrowed it down to either the nitto mud grappler, goodyear mud tire with Kevlar or the Mickey Thompson mtz tire, does anyone have anythoughts on these tires or a suggestion on a different one, I would like one that does good in snow.

aftermarket rims? also mud graps will go bald in like 20k get some trail grapplers they are agressive as hell but wont howl nearly as much on the road. post a pic when you do it, your proboably going to have to level aswell. just for bigger tires its not gonna be worth gear change especcially if you own a 4x4 which would mean 2 times the labor and two sets of master install kits and the gears themselves. also diff fluid is expensive. not being a downer but with mud tires and a body lift you will get laughed at. good luck and post pics if you go down this road. oh and we have a sticky thread for this

Yea since you're just getting a BL it's safe to assume you won't be offroading since that's probably the worst way to get clearance for bigger tires. If it's only gonna be on road then stick with 35s as your MPG will tank with 37s. Will they fit? Probably but you may rub especially without a level in addition to the lift. But definitely go with the Trail Graps since you'll get longer life out of them or the Mickey Thompson's if you're will to dish out for them

It does have a leveling kit in it now and 35in pro comp tires, I just figured since I was going to lift it I might as well put bigger tires on it. Have you owned the trail Trappists before? Are they any good on snow or ice? It also has eagle rims on it, I'm not sure on the width or backspacing because they were on the truck when I bought it. Thanks for the suggestions.
