Angry I'M Pissed Off,

well went to the dealer and he checked the truck in and said . oh stalling problem and said yes and I need to update software done to solve this and he said they will run the pcm and see whats up and if the is one. I said i was told by someone there is and and it could be the fix and he said we will see if so . So then i printed out the piece and handed it to him and he says this is hogwash thjat no computer can be erased and the reprogramed.
So they took it in and it was in for NO MORE than 12 mins and they said its fullyn updated and the only thing they found was a code on the TCM that my batt was weak and that one of the batt cells could effect the throttle pos sensor and make it not work right.
So i said did they still redo the pcm even though there is no udate he said yes but how can you drive a truck into and bay and set up to see if there are any codes and re flash a pcm in 12 MINS.
So I left and got down the street and of corse ( SAME THING ) sp I stoped at th Canadian tire auto store and bought a Brand new BATTERY and guess waht ( SAME THING ).
So now between the $60 at the dealer and the $130 for new battery i spent another $190 to come home with the same thing i left with, and to date i have spent $2147.67 for parts to solve this and I am so _____ that I dont have any other answers.
So haveing some beers tonight and start a newn tomorrow to see what else, but dont wanna keep spending money for there **** up, or if i do i could of bought a new truck.
But I do know one this that I am planning on buying a new truck in a year and half but keeping this for work, but when i do it WON"T BE A DODGE....
So if anyone out there has anyother ideas please clue me in cause im even driving my wife nuts bitching about it. and sorry forn swearing for those who dont like it...
Thanks all SO MUCH for your help.

Damn, you're a whiny little bitch aren't you? And sounds like your wife thinks so too. You ain't gonna buy another Dodge? Good for you. Move on. Go somewhere else.

Doesn't matter if you buy a brand new Ford, Chevy, Toyota, or Dodge, it's still gonna be a bunch of junky, cheap american or jap parts surrounded by plastic and sheet metal. This ain't the 60s and 70s when trucks were built like tanks. But if you want help from the members here it's best not to insult the brand we like. Man up and grow a pair and fix your ****, dude.

He's entitled to do what he wants.... but if I was him, I would have taken it to another Dodge Dealer with a more reputable service department, it sounds like the service manager he spoke with wasn't willing to help him with anything and my bet is he didn't reprogram anything, or even follow the service bulletin so at that point I would have called the Dodge Customer service hotline and asked for a supervisor to handle my case, and basically have them order the dealer to perform EVERY SINGLE step in the TSB and called it a day.

It's common for people to never buy that brand of truck/car again if they have one issue that they can't have solved, and sometimes the issues aren't even as big as one would expect. Troubleshooting a problem is NOT an exact science and it must be taken one step at a time, but the WRONG way to go about these types of problems is to just throw parts at it and hope for the best.

Also Looka, quit being obnoxious, I didn't take offense to anything he said, because well I can completely understand where he is coming from, so quit starting a fight.

So far he's spent $2147.67 and still has the same problem, so lets see how we can help him moving forward (if he wants our help that is).

So blackram, if you wouldn't mind can you reply to my post with a list IN ORDER of what parts you have put into the truck, and a very brief summary of what the truck is doing.

That way we can start checking off the troubleshooting list and give you the best information possible.

I was having the stalling issues as well. Mine ended up being a bad negative battery terminal and possibly a bad ground cable. Only reason I say possibly is because when I replaced the battery terminal, I ran all new negative cables. 1 to the block, 1 to the frame, and then one to the body. All of my problems disappeared, and it cost me less than $30 and 15 minutes of my time.

BlackRam,

Do you have the FSM????

If not, Download it ---for free--- from Weedahoe. Its the Roadmap to your truck.
Have you recalibrated the "Gas" pedal position sensor yet?

Also, run a ground wire to the TB. do this before you recal the pedal.

Unhappy

So these are the things I have to date installed or done.
1)plugs
2)cables
3)throttlebody
4)cam sensor
5)crank sensor
6)egr valve
7)pcv
8)fuel Pump & filter
9)New intake seals
10)Battery
11)gone through the wiring connectosr with eletronic spray and and cleaned them all.
12)checked all fuses.
13)removed the ground cables and cleaned and installed.
14) new diff oil-trans and filters and oil change every 3 months.

So what happen is when im coming to a stop the rpms drop and end up around 600 and then bounce up to 800 and then back to 600 and some times drop to 300 and then truck dies and this is when im coming to a stop. I was also told it could be my ABS sensor so I unpluged that and reset the computer and still the same thing.
I have been trying so manny different things just to see.
Im starting to wonder if i should get a new pcm and try that, but as someone also posted about the ground cable to the throttle body i going to try that after work tomorrow.
Any help would mean alot i love my truck and wanna hang on to it but this problem is costing me to much and when im in late afternoon traffic crawl and it dies...it needs to be fixed.

Okay that helps alittle... I'm still thinking the problem is a bad ground connector or a vacuum leak.

Does it happen only while in gear or does it happen in park/Neutral as well? Also does it only happen when you have the brake applied?
