I use 93 octane and Royal Purple oil.

Once you get it back together, buy a can of sea foam and use it per the directions and change the oil as directed. One the next oil change I would add some Marvel Mystery oil (again as directed) and change the oil later as directed.

Damn Weedahoe! That head is immaculately clean!

I used to run Royal Purple on a Subaru STi I owned, but after an oil analysis after 3000 miles by Blackstone Labs I found out that Motul Brand Oil was about 3 times better... sadly they do not make a 5w-20 Oil... so I am on the hunt for another brand to rival Royal Purple...

I called the local dealer 16 6.1 exhaust springs plus 8 6.1 intake push rods and 8 6.1 exhaust push rods for under $85 plus a 25% discount = nice discount for being a chrysler employee

@ Nate - good job. Now you just gotta change everything out. Prepare for a backache

@ lzero - can't you tighten the screws on the lens cover to help it seal better?

I'm afraid if I tighten them anymore I'll crack the lens on it... :-/

No but the gasket looks a little dryrotted so silicon will only go so far ya know?

I'll prolly just get a new gasket, see if they fixes, it and then if it doesn't I will prolly get some gasket maker and extend the mating surfaces to is seals properly...

I already have a backache... truck is falling apart. Driver side half shaft boot ripped so I have to tear that out. also the power steering wasn't working when the exhaust springs took a crap so I am gonna replace the pump and the rack and pinion

on another note I was gonna order that tool from summit racing and noticed this one on ebay

Miller Tool 9065B
