ok here goes, I have two doge trucks my 2006 3500 I can leave the truck running and lock the doors with my extra key to run into the store or what ever. I have a 2007.5 2500 that will do it every great once in awhile but not all the time. Im sure that there is a code or something I can do but I cant find anything on the forum or in the owners manual that allows me to do this. Any help would be helpful.

Im not sure about that, but are you locking the truck by the FOB or key in the door? I would imagine you can lock the passenger doors, then hop out and lock the driver door with you key. Or does it unlock itself right after?

 

im locking my 06 with the fob. And every once in awhile the 07 will do it but not very often.

have you tried to reset the computer on the 07?

all the electrical stuff is controlled by the computer.. lights, locks, etc.

 

I've had many vehicles that you couldn't lock if the key was in the ignition, running or not.

 

My 2008 won't lock with the Fob nor with the driver door module. Not even when I use my aftermarket remote start as it's tied into the canbus wire system.
What I have to do is turn truck off, lock doors and then remote start it back up. Very annoying.
I have not tried to manually lock all the doors and then use the key in the driver door. Too much work..lol

NYS has made it illegal to leave your vehicle running with the keys in the ignition and vehicle unattended and doors locked.

 

I have not tried to reset the computer but I will. But like I said my 2006 will lock with the key fob while the truck is running. That makes it really handy on cold days to run into the store to grab something.
