Default Advice on new speakers for '03 2500 Quad Ram with Infinity system

I bought a set of speakers on Ebay and the front 6x9 speakers were too wide for the narrow holes in the front doors. I would like to replace the blown speakers in all 4 doors without messing with anything else in the system. I need help in finding speakers that will fit.

Do the stock speakers have the amps mounted ON the speakers, like they older systems do?

I only took one front panel apart. That speaker did not have a mounted amp on it.

If the amps are separate from the speakers, you can install any same size speaker, that will deal with the power the amps are putting out.

That is the question I am asking because a normal 6x9 speaker will not fit in the narrow oblong hole in the front doors.
What are the these speakers considered in size? 4" x 9"?
Wattage I understand, but the actual size is giving me trouble.

That, I don't know...... Does it mount from the inside, or the outside of the hole?

I use crutchfield.com for anything stereo related. Especially speakers. Customer service is A+ and their techs really know what they're talking about. They'll have an entire selection of speakers that fit and then a selection of speakers that fit with minor modifications to the mounting hole.

Thank you for the bump. Hopefully someone who has had a similar experience as myself will post.

Go to crutchfield.com, put in your vehicle info and it will tell you what size speakers will fit. Better than waiting around for someone to do it for you.

If just the surrounds are shot, have you given thought to repair?
