Default 04 5.7 hemi ignition coil b secondary circuit p2305

04 dodge ram 5.7l been fighting this thing for months change the coil, plugs and wire nothing has help keep getting this code sometimes 2days later after clearing sometimes half mile down the road.my next step will cutting the coil 2 wire and splicing close to the pcm to see if maybe shorting out or something but the thing is I can pull the boot off and its shooting sparks 3-4in away if cutting the wires don't work then more likely the pcm bad this could be the reason when in park when trying to hold the rpm it'll jump and the exhaust starts making popping sound like its misfiring but check engine light don't flash already did a compression test it held 120psi.

Try swapping the injector on the cylinder with another one. See if the misfire moves.

did that and also swap coils and check the plug still same thing so I cut the db/tn wire which is the pcm control wire for that coil and wire it to the connector still same thing so I test at the connector it pulse a couple times then stays at 4.5v then back to pulse so then check coil 1 pulse couple times then stays 4.5v that it so I'm thinking pcm shot

Sounds like. Wouldn't be the first time a driver failed......

Not sure how the system works for sure, but, don't they use the same driver for two cylinders? (apparently not, huh?)

me either but I was thinking I was having problem couple months ago with I think coil f so I change the plugs and also did where both plugs will fire at the same time the truck didn't like it but it did fixed that coil but then I got coil a and b so I put all the plug wire back it fixed a but still b so I change plug and I will let y'all know if it fixed it.

update the cil came back after 1/2 mile but I got some good news today at lunch the cil went off the only thing I can think of is yesterday I hit a pot hole on the dirt road pretty good and after driving 30+mile the cil cleared itself saying everything good. the only thing that could have been wrong is the cam must of had trash or something causing the spark to last longer and when I hit the hole it came off.its about time for an oil change anyway so that's what I'm going to do next so thanks everyone that help until next time see ya

There may be a specific procedure for installing it, should try and look that up.

I’m goin thru same thing brand new plugs coils from my 2005 truck had no coil problems so I used those thinking it wud be okay but nope p24 code and p0300 and p0304 so I’m gonna get new coils but it seems like that didn’t help.. did u change injectors did that do anything to stop misfire?
