How to make a engine harness wire loom for the 4.7 -> 5.7 engine swap
Hello, I’m asking those of you out there who know how to combine wire harnesses from 2 different engines or how to make a whole new one for the 02 4.7 to the 03 5.7 engine swap. Trying to avoid paying high dollar to have someone make one for me, my truck info should be in my sig, if not please let me know.
Thanks for for your time,
christian

Trying not to laugh...if you REALLY want to do this, contact hotwireauto.com.....otherwise, since we have no idea what your mechanical, electrical and electronic expertise and capabilities are (sounds like not much), you would have to get both wiring diagrams and compare pinouts and where each piece of the harness goes between the two engines, subtracting what isn't applicable and adding pieces where needed. Good luck LMAO.

Anyhow OP do a Google search. There was a forum on a Dakota website about a guy doing exactly what you want to do. He even used the 4.7L harness and just added things (for example more oxygen sensors). You are already ahead because you have the 4.7L. it's out there and if I had access to both diagrams I could help you but I don't. Good luck!

You are absolutely right. Hopefully he has offed himself and there won't be any more noise.
To the OP: there is a sticky or thread on here somewhere that has the factory service manuals you will need to attempt this. As I said, without knowing what your aptitude/ability is for such things we can only wish you luck or recommend professionals.

Thanks for the tips and advice everyone. Also yes I’m not that skilled at the stuff you listed tnutcaste, but I feel with enough research I can figure it out, doesn’t seem too too complicated. Also moparfanatic, are you talking about the user hemidak or something along those lines that started the thread your talking about? If so I’ve already read those. Thanks for everyone’s help so far, I have a long journey ahead of me
