What problems have you been having? Did you make sure the gas cap is tight?

yeah the gas cap is tight i checked that first. first the evaporator was leaking, they replaed that, second was an emission pump, replaced that, third was a selonoid connected to the emission pump, and i cant remember what the other one was.

Just to let you know your not the only one with problems with your dodge ram. I purchased my 2005 quad cab 1500 HEMI in april of 05'. It is now december and I since have had my truck in for the infamous dying problem. My truck now has 7,000 miles on it and its been in the shop 4times and all they seem to be able to do to try fixing the problem is updating the software and let me tell you thats not working. So I myself am going through the lemon law process but in washington state. Dodge needs to nut up and start doing something about these on going problems. Sorry for goiong on and on but I just wanted to let you know your not alone. Good Luck

I too am having some issues with my 05. I purchased my 05 QC Hemi 4x4 in September and ever since I picked it up I had noticed what I am calling an air leak. If I crack the driver side window the noise gets louder, if I turn the blower on, the noise for the most part goes away. 1st service - door was tightened/re-adjusted. 2nd service - no leak in the windshield. I just got it back last week (the 3rd time) after spending 10 days in the shop, they had a Chrysler tech out of Detroit in to look at it. They ended up replacing the heater box. Needless to say it still has the noise. Now they are contacting the tech again for the next step. If it goes in again and still is not fixed then I will start working through the NY lemon law.

only problems I've ever had with my 03 are the dying thing...but that's only happened maybe 5 times since I bought the truck brand new...

I'm about to roll 60K miles in the next few weeks and it's never even been in for a service except oil changes (though at 60, I'm taking it in for one)

runs like a hoss...and I drive it like a jackass most of the time

Knock on wood, my 04 is still going strong and has no real problems at this time(33,000 miles) in fact it has never died on me, never had tranny problems and the rear end noise(clunking) that I used to have went away? Odd as that may seem...

Your trucks must have been made on a friday afternoon or a monday morning.

As I stated above im having the dying problem along with the wind noise you are having. I called the dealership(Vancouver Dodge) today to set up a time to drop off my truck to take another crack at the dying problem but all they tell me is all we can do is update the software but that is most likely not going to fix it and we know there is a problem reaccuring with 04-05 dodge ram HEMI'S but untell dodge comes out with a fix there is nothing we can do(B.S.) So in the mean time I have called Dodge Corp. for the 4th time and they are now forwarding my file to the president of the company. Not to meantion my truck has also been in for bad headlight seals and the cruise control went out. So since no one seems to what to do much to help me in the mean time I have written the following on my truck:
*LEMON.... ALL I WANT FOR X-MAS IS A CHEVY( passenger rear door window)
*DODGE RAMMED ME WITH A LEMON(rear window drivers side)
*CAUTION....TRUCK MAY DIE(rear slider)
*2005 DODGE RAM HEMI...."CAN YOU SAY LEMON"(passenger side rear window)
*PAINT ME YELLOW AND SQUEEZE ME(left side of rear bumper)
*FREE(crossed out and expensive written above it) LEMONADE (on the right side of the rear bumper)
*THIS IS MY BRAND NEW 2005 HEMI-LEMI(on the driver side rear door window)
*LEMON(on both side mirrors)
*DODGE GRAB IT BY THE HORNS AND SHOVE IT (on the front grill)
*DON'T GET RAMMED BY DODGE (on the front bumper)

I had it lifted right after I bough it

Trust me, one and all, I feel your pain! That's why there ARE lemon laws. A simple google search of "XXXXX lemon law" (where XXXXX is your state) will turn up what you need. Or, one can call your state's attorney general's office.

Now, as to having problem and switching to a Shivvy or whatever other brand you want to consider... the fact remains that massed produced products also produces some defects. Hence, the warranty. The problem is not in the brand (go to any brand vehicle forum, and I do mean any, and they all read alike in this regard).

Unfortunately, NONE of the manufacturers seem very well equipped to consistently find and correct problems--of any kind, let alone electronics. Sorry though that is, it's a fact we all have to live with to some degree. One above spoke of Chevrolet, for example, bear with me... I've found the relevant Forum much more helpful in finding info to tell my dealer how to fix my C-5 Vette than GM headquarters!

I wish all with issues the best of luck, however, you may find the same thing with any brand of any product. We simply could NOT possibly afford the products we do if quality control for each and every one were to be such to "certify" perfection when leaving the manufacturer. Thinking otherwise is a fantasy. Consider NASA and its one-off multi-billion dollar projects were every part and system is monitored and tested repeatedly--and failures millions of miles away still sometime occur.

People are not perfect, nor are their efforts.

All the best with your legal actions. But, don't blame Dodge. They are really no different than other companies driven by the desires of stockholders.
