Default Idle Question

Hi,

I’m new to the forum. Thanks for having me.

My question is this. I changed my plugs, to platinum because AutoZone had no copper. It will start but it idles not at all or at about 400 rpm. Is there a way to adjust this to 600 or whatever the normal idle should be?

Thanks!

Think I would start by ditching the platinum plugs..... These trucks are notorious for REALLY not liking them......

Agreed. Ditch the platinum. These engines run best on OEM copper core plugs.

I also have heard that platinum plugs aren't great for these trucks... you should go to copper instead.

Got the plugs in. Running great again. It does seem to idle lower that it used to @about 500 when fully hot. No stalling or rough idle though. Nice and smooth.

thanks for all the help.
