Default No Start

I was driving yesterday and the red lighting bolt and CEL came on. I cleared the lighting bolt but not the CEL. Drove fine for awhile with several starts and stops of the engine. Then I could not get it to start. Called a tow truck, when the tow truck got there I tried to start it and it stared up. So i drove it home, killed it and it would not start again. I have put a new throttle body and crank sensor on it and it still will not start. I ran the codes and I have no codes. The CEL flashes 10 times then stays on. I am at a loss as to what it can be.

Ok, according to theory......... the CEL blinking with ignition on, engine NOT running, means the PCM is still in diagnostic mode...... Supposedly, it should get over that in a few minutes. If it doesn't, disconnect the battery, turn on the headlights for 15 seconds, (to drain residual energy in various systems) hook the battery back up, and see what happens.

This is just what google tells me. I have no idea if this will actually work or not. Worth a shot at least.

I've tried tha . From what I read it can be a multi cylinder misfire or an emissions problem. I just can't get any codes out of i .

CEL flashing about misfires only happens when the engine is actually running. Flashing with ignition on, engine off, is an entirely separate issue.

Is the red security light blinking as well, or just the CEL?

Just CLE. I'm going to try a cam sensor after work today. I hope that fixes it.

Don't just throw parts at it. Good way to go broke, and introduce problems you didn't have before.

Do you have another key to try?

My wife does. I just put the cam sensor in and it tries to start then goes back to just turning over. I'll try the other key when she gets home.
