Default What is this for

I have a Transmission line leaking and went to put a slice in it. And as I was cutting the line broke at this fitting. I have tried to look up what this block is for and can't find anything. I went to see about a hole new line and the way it looks it goes from the cooler to the Transmission and bypass this block.

This is on a 2007 ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi

Where do the lines come from/go to? Wonder if that's a thermal bypass....

OK, so, I see (potentially) four lines there, on from the trans to the block, one from the block back to the trans, and I would guess the other two go up to the radiator/aux cooler (if equipped....)?

If that's the case, just take a rough measurement how long the broken line needs to be, go to your local parts store with the dead one in hand, and get one the right length, (or close enough) with the correct fittings on the end. You can hand bend it to fit.

It might be, no idea really. Looks like there might be a temp probe in there as well, just broken off. But, why make it more work than it really needs to be? Are all the lines in that bad of shape? If they are, the do what ya gotta do.
