Hey guy I need some help. I have a 02 ram 4x4 that had a 4.7 in it. I built a 5.7 with a comp cam and had a whole truck we pulled the motor and harnesses out of for the swap. Everything has went good and it fires up but no throttle at all, just idles. I checked all the wires at apps under battery, the throttle body and pcm connections. I’m getting cam sensor code p0340, egr codes, and the downstream o2 codes which I’m gonna tune out. Anyone have an idea what to check next???

 

The truck starts right up and idles normally, just doesn't respond to pedal input?
You may want to research engine tone ring mismatch.

 

Not likely, all pre-VVT hemis use the same 32 tooth tone ring.

 

yeah I’m starting to think it’s the computer. Have checked and reckecked all sensors, wire circuits and grounds. Bell crank is acting right from what I know too. It will try and crank and then cut right back off with apps plugged up. If I upplug either the apps or throttle body it will run at 1200 rpm but not throttle control obviously

 

Have a scanner that cans see what the APPS is telling the PCM? Sounds to me like it either isn't working at all, or the PCM doesn't understand the signal it is getting. Of course, I would expect either condition to set a code, or turn on the red lightning bolt on the dash......

 

No codes other than egr and downstream o2, and evap purge. It’s a 02 ram with a 03 harness and hemi. But we upgraded harness and new computer to 05 for tunability

 

Think I might check part numbers on the sensors for the throttle by wire system, and see if things didn't change.

 

All the sensors and everything came from a running truck that I bought for the swap. I took the whole truck apart got w from that truck that way I was sure to have it all and knew it worked. Except the comp of corse which I just bought and had flashed to my vin and skim taken off

 

Need a scanner then. See what the PCM thinks is going on.
