I think I was mixing in memories of the valve job I did on my riding mower. Those you can push in by hand.

Yeah, springs on those aren't nearly so mean.

So I borrowed my coworkers endoscope and got the best pic j could. But it definitely looks like there is metal sitting on the piston. Head comes off tomorrow.



so here is another pic. Which looks like a bigger piece or the valve hit the piston. .

In the cylinder or in the valve port? I couldn't see anything other than what I posted. I am tearing the head off tomorrow. The scope isn't the easiest thing to use. Not the best either...

Quick question, am I going to have to take the timing cover front all the way off or will I be able to use the timing block to hold the chain in place and still remove the head? I can see where one of the tensioners is bolted to the head and it's got me thinking....
