no dome lights

Default no dome lights 03 ram gen 3

hello guys,

Im having an issue with my truck the dome light won't come on either by pressing them or opening the doors.
I checked if they got power and they do, the fuse isn't blown either.
Could someone help me im freaking out.

Looks like they all get power from fuse 17 in the fuse block under the hood. They are 'switched' via the instrument cluster though, which provides the ground path for them.

the fuse is good though, does it have something to do with the cluster?

Yes. The various switches (doors, etc) do not directly control the lamps. They simply clue in the cluster that a door is open, or some such, and then the cluster decides whether it really wants to turn the light on or not. Even the reading lamps, the switches complete the circuit to the cluster.... not to ground. Cluster grounds at G301, left front of body..... Where exactly that is, I don't know. Does the cargo lamp work? Or the glove box light?

yes everything works just fine except for the dome light the front and the rear... i really don't have any more clue on what to dig in to

Just to be clear, is it JUST the dome lamps that aren't working?? (they aren't manually switched. just controlled by the cluster.)
