2008 ram 1500 cruise control problem.
My cruise just stopped working. i did a search and there's not too much info on the 08. I know there's not a listed fuse. The trucks old and has 192xxx miles. Without taking it for diagnosis and repairs I changed the two easiest things being the brake switch and on/ off cruise control switch. Anyone have the same situation and a fix? I like having cruise for the longer drives to work but I can live without it if it's too costly to fix
I can say there is voltage at both switches. I replaced the on off switch thinking that might have been the problem. I know when you turn it on it doesn't show its on and it's not working

Horn blows. There is voltage at the steering wheel switches. Since changing the brake light switch and the on/off button switch I have continuously tried to use the cruise. The light has came on a few times but went out. Yesterday I pushed the button and it came on and I hit the set button and it set. Drove about an eighth of a mile and then it went off by itself. I have no clue I'm going to check and make sure there's nothing interfering at the ECM because I have a bunch of junk under my seat. I really don't think that's the problem but I will look anyhow. I don't want to invest a lot of money in a repair for this I was just hoping it was something simple.
Have you scanned for codes? My 06 would set a trans code that didn't trigger a check engine light and it disabled cruise control, light wouldn't even come on. TCM codes are hard to read for some reason, the code wouldn't come up with the key trick or my standard scanner, but alfa would pull it.

Doubt it. The cruise switches just modify a signal voltage, and send it back to the PCM... could be the switches, the clockspring, or a number of sensors causing the issue. If it were a sensor though, I would expect that should set a code.
