Dealer BS
I am at 28,000 and planned on changing the sparks plugs on the next visit. So, I call the dealer where I usually go for service. They quote $455 to do the spark plugs (high in my opinion, but whatever). Then he says they recommend cleaning the throttle body every 15,000 miles (carbon build up) - $100. On top that, they say I need to change my transmission, differential, and transfer case fluids - approx $450 (I changed them at 18,000 so I'm good until 48,000 miles), but he said they need to be changed every 15,000 miles. To top it all off, he says I should flush the brakes and power steering. The total bill for everything would have come to $1,200!
So, I call another Dodge dealer closer to my house and he says, "$250 parts and labor for the spark plugs, $100 for the throttle body cleaning, your transmission, transfer case and differential fluid is good for 30,000 mile intervals, and you don't flush the brakes and power steering until you hit 60,000 miles. So, Dealer A wanted $1,200 to do things I don't need, while Dealer B quoted me $398 for spark plug change, oil change, and throttle body cleaning.
Just thought I'd share this with those of you approaching the 30,000 mile service.

The thing about the tranny, diff, and transfer case is that I just had them all changed 10,000 miles ago. I can still go another 20,000 miles. The guy told the only time you need to change it sooner is if you do a lot of towing (which I don't) or offroad it a lot (which I don't). They were just trying to make a buck (or a few extra bucks in this case).

Even for NGK5306, at $1.99/each, that's $32 for replacement plugs... Which means they want to charge you $218USD to do the labour? What are the labour rates in USA? Still sounds like way too much money.
Maybe that's why **** is so differnet in Canada... I pay $45,000CAD up front of the truck, and getting **** done here is cheap.
