Just a little insight on the oil businnes for those who dont know. Crude Oil is a traded commidity like grain, steel, and all other things traded on wall street. The price of gasoline at the pump is based on the price of oil per barrel. as the price per barrel goes up the prce at the pump goes up. the current pirce of curde oil is somewhere around $75 a barrel, very high. The reason its so high is the traders are worried about whats going on in iran, the production in the US is all messed up from the hurricanes, and violence in Nigeria( they produce around 3% of the worlds oil doesnt sound like alot but it is). So dont bitch at the oil companies they are just making money because the traders are scared. So bitch at wall street.

Also they wont let walmart undercut the market because the US has arleady had to regulate oil with the monoploy of Standard Oil. The oil giant used to come into towns and set up refineries, sell for a loss until the local refinery went out of businees and the price gouge the **** out of the town

 

This just in on the 6:00 news they've stated that exon-mobile has posted a 27 billion dollar PROFIT in just the first three months of this year. UNFREAKIN believable!!!!! Hears something we all can do to maybe help our situation. I recieved an e-mail about a week ago that said if we all or even just the majority of U.S. citizens would not buy fuel from exon-mobile, that within just a weeks time the would be hurting so bad that they would be forced to lower their price of fuel and then the other oil companies would follow suit!!! I for one will never go near a exon or mobile station, so pass this on to anybody and everybody you know,and every forum you belong to. What do we have to lose, we have to make a stand against BUSH and his cronies!!!!! Lets do this people and show them who runs this country, and not just sit back and BITCH about gas prices as they rise skyhigh!!!!! Thankyou all.

 

correct me if I am wrong, but arent the gas stations independently owned franchises? By boycotting Exon-Mobil you arent hurting the actual company, but the tax paying neighbor that runs the station and has to buy HIS gas from Exon so you the public can fill your trucks. I agree that prices are out of hand. but boycotting and possibly ruining a local business is not going to solve the problem. I sure that Exxon has plenty of contracts outside their gasoline sales.
The only way to effectively reduce the prices is to reduce our dependence on it. Get a more efficient vehicle,carpool, mass transit, ride a bike, or heaven forbid actually walk somewhere.

 

yes gas is 75 a barrel but what your not saying is how much it costs them to get that barrel of oil out of the ground i have heard that it only costs them 20 bucks a barrel and the rest is all profit!!!! but its not hurting me in as i drive my 95 mitsubishi mirage with 1.8L and getting
35 mpg with that car all weekand drive ram on weekends to pull the boat so i fill up once a week about 33 bucks and drive over 400 miles on about 11.5 gal of gas so i am not helping big oil at all with there big profits. Just need a cover for my Ram is all so it don't get so dirty sitting in driveway all week is all. So I hope you all have some other ride besides the ram or you will realy be going broke.

 

Tell Me about it. Nearly 14.50 toi fill my motorcycle. $3.10 for premium gas and that is all I can use in the bike. $2.99 for regular in my RAM I only let the tank go to half and it is still close to 45.00 to refill.

This blows. Boycott Exxon / Mobil American companies taking advantage of American people. Posting record profits.

 

While your at it lets boycot all the banks and drug companies that are making way more profit than we at ExxonMobil are making. I've only been with them 5 years , best company I've ever worked for. Also Just about ever gas station gets there gas from the same place. The add the different additives to the gasoline. Thats why most of the truck delivering the gas do not have exxon, mobil, shell or any company logos on them. So boycott all you want. Makes a whole lot more sence to cut back on the amount of gas we use.

I HEARD GAS PRICES ARE GONNA START GOING DOWN??? NOT IN MY TOWN .. JUST WENT UP .05 CENTS.. NOW $3.55 (91 OCTANE CHEVRON).. I FOUND A TEMPORARY SOLUTION.. 10 SPEED MOUNTAIN BIKE!!! SAVES ME MONEY IN GAS AND SAVES ME MONEY FROM THE GYM. LOL... TRIED THIS TODAY, BUT I DON'T THINK THIS WILL LAST TOO LONG.. JUST A DAY AND I WAS MISSING MY TRUCK.. HAHAHA.. F- IT I'LL JUST WORK HARDER OR EAT LESS.. CAN'T REPLACE THE HEMI!!

 

Does anyone know any place that sells the propane system for Dodge trucks. You can still use gasoline but at a flip of a switch on your dash it will go over to propane.?

 

Gas in Topeka today dropped $.20 a gallon to $2.59. Can you say to much profit. I am sure that It will be back up in a couple of weeks- Just in time for summer.
