Default $7000 in rebates currently on 06' Ram..is this correct??

Dodgedlr stated in an earlier post that there is combined rebates on the 06' Ram 1500's. Is this correct? And, what rebates are on top of the $4500 cash rebates? I am ready to buy and any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Rebates can vary by locale, so you may want to visit http://www.dodge.com and check for offerings in your area. Here in eastern Iowa, western Illinois, there's a $5000 rebate OR 0% for 60 months, plus $1000 owner loyalty cash. So if you currently own a Dodge, you can get up to $6000 in rebates, or $1000 in rebates with 0% for 60 months. Also there are no payments until January, 2007. Keep in mind, however, that the financing offer requires a certain level of credit worthiness, and not all who apply would necessarily be extended those terms.

The Aged Inventory Bonus... is a dealer incentive - and the dealer is under no requirement to pass that on to the consumer.
But he would be foolish not too. If he has has something on ground since Dec 31, 2005 He is probably dieing to get rid of it.

Does it really matter? I think it is all just a scam.

My truck stickered at 39K and I paid 24K. Incentives were around $5000 at the time.

That's no trade in, I got a bank check for the 24K plus tax....

Tell them you don't care about there scams, keeping working the price lower. Don't give in.

I paid 18,999 for a Ram 1500 Bighorn, 5.7 and 20" chrome wheels, list price was $33,000, the price included $5500 in rebates and another $8500 dealer discount. Dealer swears they are losing $4,000 and only get a $900 credit from Dodge.

are you leasing the truck? 3500 cash plus 3500 lease = 7000. Thats how I got 11000 knocked of of mine but then that was 05 and the rebates were crazy high.

You bet it matters.
I don't think you are understanding that the factory pays the rebates back to the dealer.
So you look at the bottom line, then subtract the rebates. A sincere rebate is far from a gimmick or scam.

What I am saying is that magically on the third day of price drops, the truck was at my price. Which was over 15K less than sticker.

So you are telling me the factory writes the dealer a 15K check for a 39K truck?

There is a massive correction factor associated with the sticker price. I told the guy right of the bat I don't care about rebates, he didn't get it at first. I told him I don't care about payments, he didn't get it at first.

I was going to buy either a Dodge or the equivalent Ford for 24K. Dodge dealer was the first to get to 24K, Ford wasn't far off either. I was surprised the Ford dealer came down so low.

dodgeDlr, maybe the rebates matter to you, but how did my dealer all of a sudden knock 15K off the sticker price of a fully loaded truck?
