I agree 100%, my 2006 Mega Cab doesn't cool well at all. Now, the ac fan motor is making loud squealing noises intermittently, like maybe a bearing is going out. I already had to have the air blend door replaced. Seems like Dodge needs to do some upgrading on their ac system for this truck.

Single largest complaint among megacab owners by far. Yet another issue Chrysler has known about since day one and done nothing to correct...

I'm curious did anyone ever try adding a fan on the evaporator? If the air is not getting cold enough this could actually help quite a bit. If the problem is airflow through the vents this will not do much however.

Youre an AC tech w/Dodge are ya? Gotta 1999 Ram 1500 360 V8
what are the specs on refilling w/R134 - the relative temperature-fill ratio that is?

Or if you could send/email/post a temp chart that would be cool.

alright i have read most of this thread and agree that the air could better or blown out faster. I for one live in southwest GA. so it does get quit warm around here. I will let the truck run for about 10 min. max before leave the house to go some where with the ac running full tilt and by the time we get in it is fine. Now the back seat is a different story from the front cause once the back cools off the front will still be warm but my back windows are 5%. The wife says it stays cooler in the back than the front. So i normally leave my ac full blast, but it does at times get rather cold so i will turn it down. Just tint the back glass to 5% tint and u will be fine.

We, too, have a 2006 Dodge Mega Cab. It's air flow is absolutely not acceptable. After all of these years (and all of this name calling!), has ANYONE found any acceptable action by Dodge about this problem? Is there any REAL remedy?

My 02 single cab will out right ice the windows on an 85 degree day. I have personally rebuilt my ac system after the compressor died, and have reassemble all the duct work inside. I hardly have my fan past 2 or it gets too cold.

You all need to get a ac thermometer and put it in the vents and you should see the air be about 30 degrees cooler than the air its pulling from. So if its 90 in the cab you should hope for it to be under 70 after a few minutes. If not there is a problem with your system.

Default 2007 Mega Cab - Not enough air / Now NO cold air

I always thought my 2007Mega Cab had a fan problem and it seemed like it was running at only half speed. Guess it really is the design though, even though Dodge won't admit it.

We did have to get the fan housing replaced 6 months after we bought it. Dodge admits to this being a defect. The a/c fan can get caught in the fan shroud and consequently, no air blows out. They replaced it.

Now, my a/c doesn't blow cold air at all. $45,000...65k miles and I don't have an A/C!

Anyone have any knowledge about why the a/c doesn't blow cold air? (Yes, the fan is on and the a/c button is pushed and it is on Recycle.)

The Megas with dual air don't have this problem.
