Mega Cab AC sucks!
I recently contacted Dodge about the AC problem. This is their response.

Well as crappy as what they sent back sounds, I am still of the opinion that a lawsuit is not in order here and would probably be a waste of everyone involved's time. I can feel for you guys not having A/C but unfortunately your only real options are to go get the performance improved by a competent A/C shop or wait for Dodge to issue a TSB.

The problem is very simple. The AC in the mega cab is the exact same as the AC in the smaller cabs. Twice the cab, but the same AC capacity.

I am sure in future versions of the MC they will probably put in some rear seat vents. That would be the best idea, I wish mine had it because that would really help cool the cab quicker. Have you contacted DC regarding the issue? They are pretty quick to reply to emails and may all ready be working on something for a 'remedy' but like anything else it will take time.
I dont think you are being a jerk, and I think people should get off your back with the 'suck it up dude' posts, cause I would raise hell too if my AC couldnt cool my cab down.
Same boat, I dont care if the truck cost $5000.00 If I am paying for AC the **** better work.
Keep us updated, I am curious if there might be some retro-fitting where we could maybe get them to up the fans in the QCs...

I have a quad cab, I have ridden, and driven, mega-cabs, and yes they are bigger, but to say that it has 'twice the cab' is ridiculous. Maybe a 1/3 more cab,

I'm a AC Tech at a Dodge dealership and we have yet to have an complaints about the lack of cooling in a Mega Cab or even a Quad Cab. Mind you the hottest it gets around here is about 35 to 38 degrees celsius
Damn I would be pissed if my a/c didn't work. Unless the dealership wants to do repairs w/your a/c, there is nothing you can do about it except getting a second opinion. If this was a known problem and Chrylser was aware of MC a/c issues, they would have to meet the customer demand and you probably wouldn't have anything done soon. It must feel ****ty to be you.
dealerships use the same pick up line when they don't want to deal w/customers or they can't duplicate the concern. "This is a known problem w/(Brand) vehicles." This usually makes customers feel that they need to get in touch w/(Brand) about issue. Pretty much the dealership is blowing you off. LOL! Your screwed.

Hey SilverRam .... I cant agree with "Give Dodge a chance" ... I had an 03 05 and 06 all stall ... this issues was knows since 02 and its still an issue ... but back to the post subject.
The AC does suck. End of story.
I have a qc with hemi in fl. I have ventvisors to crack the windows when in a parking lot and a windshield visor from wally world. I also have the windows tinted. These are a must for any florida vehicle. When I get into my truck after it has been sitting in the sun, I drive with the windows down a quarter way until the ac starts kicking in.
If you haven't tried any of these tips, they do help immensely.

Does anyone have experience with other trucks (Chevy;Ford) of the same size as the Dodge Ram 1500 QC? if so, how does there AC system compare with Dodge? Do you have to buy a windshield visor, vent shade, and drive with the windows down until the AC kicks in?
Just wondering?
