Mega Cab AC sucks!
Like Nos4fuel stated, I have the 02 Ram Quad Cab, and i have the same problem. Does anyone know if comparable trucks from other manufacturers Chevy/GMC) experience the same problems?
I read the first 3 posts and that's it but a class action law suit over an ac not being good enough is insane, do a little research and find out that all dodge rams share the same ac compressor and since your trucks are gargantuon it won't be as good therefore perhaps buying a different vehicle. I guess I am lucky, my 06 regular cab gets so freakin cold it's ridiculous, I love the ac in my truck, it's like blowing arctic air on me and my cab cools down in seriously less than a minute.
I honestly believe that these gents, and myself have a legit gripe. Motorider228, listen to what you just said, and i quote:
"My regular 06 regular cab gets so freakin cold it's ridiculous" Now honestly, why would they design a quad/mega cab using the same components used in a regular cab. Does that make sense? No, it doesn't. If you're going to cool a larger area, then you need equipment designed to handle the capacity.
For example, i don't know if you ever had an aquarium but, you wouldn't use an air pump designed for a 20 gallon tank, in a 75 gallon one. It's just isn't done............Class action suit? Maybe....If dodge thought about it, and if they know they made a mistake, then why not own up to the mistake? If they did, their customers would be happy, and would continue to buy their products...
Just my .02 cents.

You don't have to believe me in what they use for the trucks but they do. It's not dodges fault all you guys signed the dotted line buying their vehicle, it's also not their fault you are upset with your ac. Do some research next time and buy something accordingly. I think people just like to whine and bitch about stuff like alot of you are doing, Law suits for stuff like this is like suing coca cola for getting fat after drinking their product, give me a break.
motorider228, you're comical to say the least..
Lets see if i understand you....Basically you're saying that if a person decided to purchase their truck in the winter, and is not able to test the AC system, then tough luck..................................So i guess if you decided to purchase your truck in the summer time, and wasn't able to test the 4X4 system, and it didn't work in the winter when you decided to use it then tough luck......
Guy, as i stated above, YOU'RE COMICAL.....

What i would do if the ac didn't work is take it in under warranty, same with the 4x4 thing. Now since the mega cabs have too small of ac compressors for their size the ac not working to all of your standards is not something that is wrong with the truck and you can see that the ac compressor is small and you have a big truck, put two and two together. If there really is something wrong with it then the warranty should take care of it. If there really is a problem then take it in under warranty I believe 3 times and if the problem is never fixed then return it under the lemon law and get a chevy or titan or something. All I'm saying is that a law suit over an ac not blowing toYOUR standards in a huge truck is ridiculous. As for the comical statement, thank you very much, I have been toldmany timesthat I do have a pretty good sense of humor so thank you for picking up on it.
Comical,,,yeah, a internet wise guy....Listen up..That's how TSB's come about.... If there is a design flaw, and its brought to their (Dodge) attention, by the owners of the vehicles, then they say look, obviously there's a problem with the AC system.
So, either they will offer to interchange compressors, for one that's suitable to such a large vehicle, OR they will correct the issue in the newer models so it doesn't effect other buyers...But if no one says anything, and just sit there and suffer, then they will never know. So basically, that's what we're doing now, we're trying to bring it to their attention.......Hoping that in good faith, they will decide to correct this design flaw....
As far as a sense of humor go's, i don't have one.... I laugh to be social, other wise i could care less about laughing.......So i was being sarcastic when i stated that in my earlier post..................
