Mega Cab AC sucks!
ORIGINAL: thorkil
I too have a Megacab, but mine is the Laramie, so I have a nice sunroof which helps get a little airflow. Bummer though, 'cause now the fumes & noise from the Honda generator running in the bed (powers the window-mount air conditioner I bought at Home Depot)get sucked in through the sliding rear window which I have open a crack (for the power cable from the generator which runs the big air conditioner, ya know).
Good thing I got the towing mirrors, otherwise that air conditioner sticking out of the off-side rear window would block my view of the Happenings In the Slow Lane.....
Seriously, class-action lawsuits should be reserved for righting the more important injustices, like the *#@!! crappy cupholders in the 06 Megacab. My cans of Fosters Ale won't fit & that really stews my prunes....& I thinkDodge should have to write a huge check, maybe shut down a few plants & lay off a bunch of workers, that would teach a lesson they would not soon forget!
Time for my meds...

I don't have a mega cab but having air conditioning issues - the fan slows down after it has run for a while - the dealer says that the sensor is located in a place that causes the problem - if it was relocated it would resolve the problem but dodge says not covered under their extended warrenty
anyone have this problem??
anyone have this problem??
Because you do not have a mega cab which infact means that you do not have a full view on the a/c capabilities of it. If the question was on the room of a regular cab, then I would not be arguing my point. The post is not on the a/c of the 3rd gen, it is on the capabilites of the mega cab a/c or lack of.
I have a mega cab and have no problems. Yesterday it was 97 and I had to turn the A/C down after about 5 minutes because the cab got too cold. The A/C was not on max either. Not sure that it is a design problem after all. Living in Arizona, I do have the windows tinted (a must in every vehicle). I have the hemi in mine. Does everyone that has a problem have a diesel?
I have a diesel megacab and my a/c works great, i too have to turn it down and also have really dark windows. I think it is just the luck of the draw with the a/c's in the trucks
