Default Borla Cat back system Feedback

I have an 04 QC Hemi I want to start working on. I am looking for a cat back system that sounds good but is not loud in cab at cruising speed. I like the borla for the stainless steel construction. Anyone out there with this system that can tell me what the sound level is like?

i have an 04 hemi with a borla catback side exit. i have had it about a year now and i like it. the sound is not as loud as some cheaper exhaust like flowmaster. it does have a deep throaty rumble especially around 2000 rpm

Do you have the single or dual outlet Borla system?

I have the Borla system that came with my Daytona, it is on the milder side, not to loud but deffinatley a nice rumble to it. Once you put a CAI on it gives it a lil' differant tone. This is a nice conservative exhaust, not obnoxious but ppl will deffinatley hear ya comming.

Shoedork,
Was that system used by Chrysler on factory Daytonas? Is the system a single exhaust or duals out the side or back? Thanks, Chris

I have a borla single in dual out with the system routed off both sides of the truck. I love it, there is no drone, it free'd up alot of extra hp, it sounds more like a performance truck rather than just another flowmaster and is quiet at idle to the point where you cant really tell you have anything on it untill you hit the gas. As for cruising speed, you cant really tell its there to much once the truck has leveled off in the rpms, however if you are hovering right on 1000 or 2000 rpms you'll be able to hear it in the cab but its not unbearable or anything like that. The only downside is that the system (or at least the one I have) was VERY pricey. Out the door installed it was around $750 but hey for the performance gains and quality I think it was well worth it.

I installed the Borla exhaust (Ram Daytona set-up) on my 2005 SLT. It's an over the counter MOPAR piece and it sounds great...Nice tuning with aslight harmonicovertone, no highway resonance, and it really sounds sweet when you get on it! Not cheap, I paid around $650, but great Borla quality and ano-hassle factory match-up on the installation. It took about 45 minutes to install. Highly recommended.

Hemi2go,
Can you give me the part numbers for the factory Borla system? Don't know if the systems they sell are the same as the factory item. Thanks

The Borla aftermarket is probably going to be much louder than you want. I don't know about the Mopar/Borla system though. The Borla on my Mustang is way louder than my truck with the Gibson system. I bought the stainless Gibson dual split rear for my Ram. It is mellow/quiet at cruise.
