Default Exhaust for new 07 RAM

I am waiting for my new 07 to be built, so I have a little time to get some research done for aftermarket upgrades. I am looking to start with the exhaust/muffler.

I would really like to upgrade the exhaust system. I don't think I have to go to the extreme of replacing the whole system (just yet), so maybe starting with just a muffler would be a good start?

To start things off, I know JACK about mufflers and/or exhausts. I would like something to give my new truck a bit of a low rumble with a decent sound, but not something extremely loud during normal driving. I do a fair amount of highway driving and I don't want to make myself deaf. Am I the only person that doesn't want the loudest muffler possible?

I would appreciate any suggestions. Excuse the noobness.

If you do a search you'll find more about this subject than you'll ever have time to read. Also...be aware that there are some issues with MDS equipped Rams (06 and 07) and the sound that is produced by an aftermarket muffler or exhaust system when it engages four cylinder mode.

I just bought an 07 Ram and had a single in dual out flowmaster 70 series put on. I've had other trucks that I put exhaust on simply for the sound but this truck I wanted to keep more quiet, so I opted for this muffler. Its alittle bit louder than stock but it is a low rumble and sounds really good. I'm very happy with my choice because I was going for the look of the dual exhaust and not so much to make it louder.

Sweet. Do you know which part number you used?

Do you notice any abnormal sound during an MDS switchover?

I too keep looking for similar answers...
I want bad-*** sound at idle and when I get on it, but still want the MDS to function at 100%... without sounding like a fart-can on the highway..

Still can't seem to get a clear-cut answer as to whether this is possible or not... Hence, I've had my MDS Hemi running stock exhaust for the full year since I bought it...

One of these days.....

I have the QuickTime video on my computer and I can vouch for how good it sounds. I will be going with the same system but an aFe intake instead of Mopar because our local dealer says there is no Mopar intake for my '07. Yes he is dumb.
