Took a 2000 mile trip on Wed - Friday (Minneapolis to Bozeman and back) Found it interesting how much the milage varied during the trip. (I had a lot of time to try and figure out an economical cruising speed)

I used the instant MPG in the Evic to try and find a good cruising speed and then had calculated the tank.

Trip out I was towing an empty 500LB car dolly:
Averaging 75MPH with head on wind - 14mpg
Averaging 72MPH with head on wind - 16mpg
Averaging 72MPH with little wind - 18mpg

Trip back towing 500lb car dolly, 3000lb car, extra passenger and about 600lbs in bed
Averaging 75MPH - 9 mpg
Averaging 72MPH -13 mpg
Averaging 65MPH -14 mpg

In my truck with the 3.21's there seems to be a sweet spot around 70-72 MPH

Did another 100 mile highway trip with the 2010 diesel today. Nothing in the bed of the truck, and four people in the cab. 100% highway driving at 80 mph.

13.8 mpg

Today driving 75% Freeway 25% city I had the instant mpgs showing between 20-21 mpgs. This is with pure 87 oct. gas,no ethanol. Bone stock 09 Ram 1500 5.7 391 gears with 11,250 miles on the clock.

I didn't know these trucks would get this good of mpgs. I was not driving hard but was driving at least the speed limit, just wasn't punching it to get up to speed.

Year - 10
Model -1500 CC 4 x 4
Engine - Hemi
Gears...3:55
Tires-stock 20's
Highway percent - 50
City percent - 50
Location -Montana
Octane - Mid Grade
Hand or computer calc - Computer
Miles on truck - 347
MPG - The truck averages 16.7-17.6 in town depending win which part of town I drive.
The average on the highway also depending on Interstate 91 roughly 20.9 at 75 and on highway to In-laws 70 mph 2 lane lots of turns ups and downs and a tall pass we average out of 4 trips roughly 58 miles one way 23.6 mpg going there and 22.9 coming back. Will do up some calculations by hand in the near future but I am really impressed with the truck LOVE the Hemi!
Mods - none yet. Within about a month will have the Airaid intake, flowmaster exhaust and the Pulstar Plugs when the truck breaks in. If anyone has anything to say about the plugs I wont listen lol Installed them in the Father In Laws BMW 745Li and he got 3.8 mpg increase out of the box hand calculated on our test try of them. So I know they work!! He has been running them now for 6 months consistent increase and increased engine response as a side benefit. Yes 16 plugs will be expensive but I do not care lol. And their new ones are rated for 100K miles not their standard 50K max life on the plugs.

I am getting 18.1 mpg since I bought it about 4 months ago and it has 4,500 miles on it. I have the 4.7 v-8 quad cab. I drive 22 miles one way to work with speeds limits ranging from 35-55 with 9 lights to deal with. On the weekends it will go down to 16-17mpg.

took my first road trip last weekend, reset it when i left the house, drove about 30 minutes in stop and go traffic until getting on the highway. Was 160 miles one way and when i got to my location display read 20.2mpg, still had 3/4 of a tank of gas and filled up the next morning and it took under 8 gallons. Same drive averaged 19.6mpg on the way home

Whoops I am new here and just found the diesel section, I'll check the MPGs over there
4th Gen MPG could be gas or deisel. The first post clearly says fuel mileage so they clearly ment deisels but I digress.

Year 2010
Model 3500
Engine 6.7
Highway percent 90
City percent 10
Location Montana to So. Dak and back
Octane Deisel, whatever that is
Hand or computer calc hand
Miles on truck 1100 mile round trip
MPG 16.02
Mods none

This was driving on highway anywhere from 68 MPH to 80 MPH temps were from about 38 upto 90 degrees in rain snow and sun with about a 2500 to 3000 foot drop in elevation going and the same in rise coming back. Computer was right at 2/10ths of a mile differant than what hand calc was. Saw as high as 17.8 MPG on computer and as low as 14.9 on computer and this drop occured everytime during a regen which I saw 4 of them during the trip.
