If anyone is intersted in having the True Flow XDI cold air intake for there 09 Dodge Ram, 5.7L, I have one that is in like new condition with approx. 500 miles of drive time on it. I would be willing to let it go for $180 which includes shipping in the US. If so, just e-mail me and I can follow up with you. Thanks.
I have read most of the pages and found that alot of people rely on the computer to tell them what there mpg is, when the computer is probably the most inaccurate thing to go off of. I took our 03 expedition on a trip to LA from the bay area and took I-5 all the way. I reset the computer when I left went over 2 small grades and then flat all the way to the grape vine and according to the computer it said i was getting worse mpg the further i went even though i was going the same speed and the outside temp was the same. so it started me at 18 and dropped to 15 by the time i reached LA. when I did the hand calc it was more like 17 something. O ya did i mention my speed ranged from 65 at the start of the trip to 80 and 90 on I 5 for most of the trip a good 3-4 hours. thank you valentine radar detecter and the CHP for leaving on radar even when not in the car.
So in other words if you want accurate readings just fill up once drive 30 miles hwy/city but one or the other, and then go fill up again and see how ever many miles you went divided by gas used or filled up rather and theres your answer. The computer is a nice estimate but not to accurate in my opinion
99 5.2l ram extended cab
around 12-13 city
16 hwy most seen hwy 18mpg
14-15, mixed depends on bay area traffic and how much i drive the street.
3.55 rear
all hand calc, i dont have a computer but it was a option
MODS-Accel wires and coil,e3 spark plugs, brute force intake, pacesetter headers, flowmaster super 44, valvaline full synthetic (if you want to call it a mod), and a intake that i cleaned up
(so made it a little less turbulent by taking out any imperfections done by casting)
Believe it or not i got 18 mpg coming back from reno during the winter with a small load in the back (maybe 500 lbs because of the snow and other stuff) and going over 3 grades one of which is big and the other 2 only reach 2000ft. also average speed was 75 while safe for it you know because snow isnt to safe for 75 but California weather is, and sitting in traffic for a hour and a half on top of it. surprised the hell out of me when i sall that number

I am so glad to get rid of my 2005 Ford F350 Diesel. It was a nice truck but it cost me too much noney to keep it running. I was a Ford fan and would not think about purchasing anything but a Ford. I was not worried about MPG with my new Dodge because the best MPG I got with my Ford was 10.5 mpg My 2011 Dodge 2500 Diesel is much better. I go by my wallet. I use to fill up every Friday now every other Friday. I like this!
lol. No you dont....

This is not my usual highway/city driving. Took a 200 mile trip yesterday and checked it. Heavy rains and wind may have hurt it a little. 15 city and 18 highway is what I was hoping for, maybe when she's broke in....

Year: 2009
Model: 1500 QC 4x4
Engine: 4.7L
Don't know the gearing

Hand or computer calc: both
Miles on truck: 29K
MPG: 18.8 (comp) / 17.4 (hand)

Thats the first 2 tanks I've run thru it since I got it. I'm a pretty conservative driver, but my wife likes to borrow it sometimes and she's not as much. I've created a spreadsheet to keep track of mileage - both total and by fuel type (Reg, Mid, Prem). I plan on running about 5 tanks of each thru it to see what happens. I'd try E85, but I haven't seen any around here.

Year: 2010
Model: 1500 Crew Cab
Engine: 5.7 HEMI
Highway percent: 10%
City percent: 40% (Mainly an Air Force base, under 30mph)
Country road (45-50 mph, paved): 50%
Location: Washington State
Octane: 89
Elevation: 2200 - 2500ft (not sure if this part matters but can't hurt)
Hand or computer calc: both
Miles on truck: 13k ish
MPG: 16.3 (comp) / 14.5 (hand)
Mods: Truxedo, spray in liner and step rails
I'm not sure how the hell the comp does the milage but its always much lower when doing it by hand. To calc by hand, I reset the tripometer upon fillup. At refill time, I divide the number on the trip by the gallons I put in to fill it.
I took a trip across state here recently and I ended up with an 18.3 avg. This was after not resetting the avg mpg reading for about 8 months though so it could well have been much higher.
