most dealers don't know about the issue. I turned 2 different dealers onto the idea by talking about this forum thread. The reality of it is that it's not happening to "alot" of people and the only dealers likely to know about it are the ones with customers that have been affected.

On that note, i haven't had any improper wear on my seats yet and i have the perforated leather heated/ventilated seats. Hoping it stays that way.

I hope something is different....better.
You are correct this whole process leads everyone to believe its a new seat cover. Politics or reality?
I am trying to get some real answer.
It looks eactly the same. It feels exactly the same. We will see.
It was in a plastic bag in the box. Service director took it out for me.
Parts guy said this number did not mean anything. I tried that too.
Wish I knew somebody at that Jonson Controls plant in Juarez, MX.
Worked for Johnson Controls before...in the USA.
Spent almost two years in Cuidad Juarez. Saw that plant every day.

I asked the serice director to ask Rob or Ravi what if anything is changed in this seat cover they have sent with the fan fair of it being new.
Some solid info is all I am asking. Not the same old skirt the question.

Shop guy that installed it did not notice anything different...and he looked for something...anything to tell me. He has been through this with me since Feb. 2008.

Its in my truck now so its a mute point really. Time will tell me if nobody else will. I have not seen it yet. Truck is at the dealership waiting on another part....more when I get my truck and have that last conversation.

email from the service director.

Mexico Ediasa 1 put that cover through their quality control test and it passed. Same cover, no changes...it passed.

"This is a good seat cover". Guess the other two I had replaced were bad seat covers.
That is possible!

Still in the shop and might be done tomorrow...4/16/08. Might not. Guessing at whats wrong.Orderd one of two things it could be.
One comes in tomorrow.

Wouldn't it be nice if the parent company took resposibility and relayed the info to its dealers. Offer a solution for the dealer to make the customer happy. Maybe in the 1950's.
Of course the dealer does not know unless someone in the area is having a problem. Chrysler has yet to admit there is a problem. Not everyone with this seat is having the problem....
Chrysler sure as hell knows about this premature seat wear issue...heated/cooled/ventilated seat covers.

I hope this one actually holds up. I really do. If it fails again.....

This is a super nice truck but never in my life have I been to the dealer this much. This is my 3rd rental car paid by Chysler. Twice I have waited. 5 times in 3 months...only 850 miles.

Do not wait to take your truck in. In 15 days Chrysler will be history. No restructuring either.
I find it odd that this forum is more concerned about mufflers, and accessories when all of us are about to be abandoned. If you really believe that the government is going to back up your warranty claims, well think again.
I should have bought the Ford. Does not look nearly as good, but at least I would not have to lose any sleep over it.

Seriously......What are you people thinking?
