Evidently they are still on the same batch.

I would like to see this taken care of as well. LOVE my truck, hate the seat wear issue.
When did you order your truck? Do you know what is the production date?

Here is the idea. How about making a video of the truck and the seats and posting it on Youtube. Describe the problem, describe what you had to go thru with Chrysler etc. And email link to Chrysler and post one on this forum.
There are A LOT of people searching Youtube for "Dodge Ram 2009" videos, and once they come across yours, well that's not good for Chrysler. I think it might be that final push they need to take this down.

Or Better, why not everyone with the same problem make a Youtube video.

Just ask yourself wouldn't this truck be nicer with proper leather seats???

Chrysler's got to fix this.
I agree that Chrysler has to fix this, BUT, I also don't want to give any of the naysayers more ammo that Chrysler isn't worth saving. So I'm not sure about the youtube idea.

Just my .02

Also, I have these same seat and only picked it up this week. I will check the prod date and keep an eye on the seats for you all.

I have about 600 miles on the truck and haven't noticed a big issue with the leather seats. They do warp a bit, but nothing like the pictures. It also comes back to shape.

I'm not a big buy though, 6ft and weight about 170. I dont pack a lot of stuff into my walet and sometimes take it out completely to avoid digging further into the leather. Could it be that some of you guys have real fat wallets?? That's not an excuse for the seats, but more of a reason.

I agree though, these seats should not wear so quickly. But I'm glad my seats haven't turned bad(yet) Cause I don't really have the time to take it once a month for warranty work on the seats.

By the way, I do have the leather bucket seats with the heated/cooled option

My seat started this after about 1000 miles. I have 11000 miles on the seat now and it hasn't gotten any worse than it was at 1000. It didn't bother me bad enough to take it to the dealer which is two hours away.
I finally got it there a couple of days ago so they know to notify me when a solution comes up.

I like the youtube idea by the way.

I do not think its a production date issue.
From the swatch of material I saw the heated/cooled ventilated all the same thin preforated Katskin.
I had not thought about you tube, but I have pondered the local news station and sending a video to CNN.

Of couse it would be nice if it had really nice non failing leather seats....my point.
Do not want a body panel to slowly crumple. Do not want my interior wrinkling and stretching.

I hope Chrysler steps up and corrects this quality issue.

I did not mean to imply I would go away if mine is fixed. I share what I know here so that everyone with this problem can get their seat fixed.
I started this thread; back when; to see if anyone else had the problem I was having!

I think when mine is fixed everbody's will be adressed. My truck seems to be the first one getting the new seat. I am the test subject and I hope and Chrysler hopes it works.

If its good I expect each person who has this issue will get that seat cover if requested.
Might be a recall before its done.

Appreciate your effort. I hope it gets resolved. I don't necessarily have this problem(yet.) But the fact is, as an owner, I shouldn't even have to worry about this type of premature seat wear.

Well, ever since stumbling across this thread I've been paying attention to my seat daily. Have had no problems so far. Today I drove 180 miles to Houston and 180 miles back. When I got out, I noticed that my seat had gotten significantly stretched and there's just enough to grab a little with my hand..... I now have 3,300 miles. Not cool.

Thanks Blue for everything you've done. Looks like i'll be heading to the dealer when I can get a chance.

Said I would have more info Friday 4/10/09.

Only thing the service director had to tell me was my new seat covers from Chrysler engineering are supposed to be here Monday.
From what I am able to acertain it seems I am the test dummy for this new design of seat cover. I hope and assume they did R&D testing on this cover...could not have been much if the did. Not enough time unless the rigged some extreme test device.

Director said Chrsler is trying to figure out the best way to address the seat wear problem.
Repair in house vs sending the cover way vs all new covers for everyone affected.
This seems to be Chrylers biggest hurdle.
How best to handle this premature seat situtaion....that has been reported by several 2009 Dodge Ram customers now....with the heated and cooled ventilated seats.

I will post what I hope will be useful info the day the new seat cover arrives...complete with pictures.
I truly hope that day is a good day for all of us having this problem.

Was not able to fix my remote start...what I took it in for...****. Monday maybe.
Happy Easter All

Cheers
Blue

Just got the call from the service director at my dealership. Monday 4/13/09 4:00 pm.
New seat cover from engineering is in. Taking it in tomorrow.
He said the preforated leather down the middle seemed thicker. Otherwsie its the same. I have my doubts its any different.

We/I will compare the two covers before installing the new. Talked to him about that. Said he did not have a device to measure the thickness.
I assume I will be able to tell if its thicker by touch.

Should be per the emails, but.....I will let you know tomorrow. Just letting you know the new seat cover from engineering has arrived at my dealership. This is the preforated heated/cooled ventilated seat cover.
