Depends on you selection of seat type.
The material that is stretching and deforming is present in the 2009 Rams with the heated and ventilated seats.
I have seen the wear in a laramie and sport. Option on either truck.

I'm taking mine to the dealer this week to have the seat replaced for the first time. It hasn't gotten any worse from the first 1000 miles I drove and now it has 9200, but its starting to get on my nerves.
I guess it'll be a monthly thing from now on or until they get it fixed.

Only the leather seats that are heated and cooled have this problem, I think.

Looking at the book they only have one option for leather in the sport and it comes with heated seats and wheel. I'll have to look at the seats again. The set I looked at were leater on the sides and had a mesh like plastic in the bucket. I wonder if this is what they are going to now? I need to make another trip to the dealer to play.

The heated & cooled seats are all leather. I think the ones you are mentioning are the stock seats.

For those of us with seat wear issues here is yet another step to take.

When you take your truck to the dealer have the service director have a look at your seat.
Follow him or her to a phone and have him/her call.

1-888-542-7239 ext 502 and report the wear as he sees it...

Chrysler called my dealership about the problem. Service director said there was no problem.
I was/am livid.
Service Driector did not have clue. Service manager knows but did not get asked to attend a conference call. Only asked the manager when the service director asked him what Chrysler was talking about.
I am way past fed up with it and NOW everybody at my dealership knows it.

Yeah.... if you're having seat wear issues then everyone in the service department at your dealership, plus the GM, should know about it.

Part of my point.
I thought the GM was the man.Turns out he is second.
The service director is top dog and he is the one who communicates with Chrysler.

I would expect this to become a TSB when the 2010's come out, with the fix. . . I had a 2004 Nissan Frontier that had all kinds of problems with rattles and noises. They fixed most of them the next model year and they became TSB's, and the replacements were the new redesigned parts.

The TSB will most likely say to replace both passanger and driver side seats with part # xxxx-xx if customer experiences . . .

Really? I haven't had that problem.... Maybe you should try different jeans? I may only have 1,672 miles and about 75 hours on the truck, but I haven't had anything I've had to clean off the leather yet.
