Seat wear
Ill give it a clean just to see if anything comes up. The wife's seats are "cashmere" and my vette was "platinum" and after dealing with those two lighter colors I told myself I'd only get dark gray or black going forward, so slate gray it was for me.
Iv been trying to get away from them also but they keep following me. 3 out of 4 last cars had light interior. No luck in life man, i am hopeless.
I just got off the phone with of Chrysler.

She called me.
Told me to just take my truck and have the seat cover repaired each time it needs it.
Chrysler is not going to do anything and has no plans to adress this issue.
Told me "its not mechanical".
I was hoping for a TSB. Looks like now my only option is to have it fixed and sue for the cost. I do not have the time or the patience to go to the dealer for a new seat cover.
Mine shows signifigant wear after 4 hours of sitting on it. Once a month would be in order and that would be living with the streched seat for 3 weeks.
Stated earlier in this thread the dealership offered a fix with a heavier preforated leather.
$1200.00 out of my pocket for the fix.
Sadly its already a habit to remove my wallet from my back pocket and toss it in the cup holder. It wears the worst where my wallet plants. Never in my life!
I will be contacting some of the top interior guru's. Tired of Chrysler and the dealership.

I did not ask Kathy her position. I assume customer service something.
I could call but...Monday I am having a sit down conference call with the service director, the service manger and the general manager from my dealer.
Yes, I have thought about cloth. If it had been an option I would have gotten cloth since I already knew these seats fail with my butt.
To get the cloth meant not getting a package that I wanted.
To answer to your question. I am debating cloth. I have until Monday to decide how much I will bend. I paid for leather. Leather holds up better than cloth.....
My 30 years of experience owning cars and trucks before this.... 2009 Dodge Ram proves that wrong.

I would keep stickin' it to them and make them keep replacing the seat covers. Eventually it'll cost them so much that they'll have spent more on seats than you paid for the truck. They'll have to do something about it eventually.
I ended up getting the leather bench seat in my Laramie crew cab. I wanted the cooled/ventilated seat option, but didn't want the center console. I guess I'm glad I chose to go with the bench seat now that I've seen this thread...
chrysler sometimes puts out bulletins for us techs to call a certain person to help w/ diagnosing a problem, so they can try to make the part better, or to address certain concern areas. one was released sometime this week about the seats, concerning wrinkling and/or stretching. hopefully, theyll update the leather and at minimum eliminate the issues most of us have.
