Seat wear
Missed a call on my cell. Left a message.
"Hello Michael, This is regarding your seat wear"....
"Please continue to take you vehicle in for repair at the dealership as needed."
"Chrysler is not taking responsibility for this (seat wear) being a design flaw."
No TSB, no recall. Already told them I could easily make them replace it every month. It wears that fast. Especially if I keep my wallet in my back pocket.
Certified mailed Chrsler Corp the first letter of non conformity today. Copied the State of Florida DMV, BBB, NHTSA, my attorney. Tech did a really nice write up on how badly the seat was worn....last month. Along with excessive wind noise, replaced the right mirror, right front weather stripping and the seat cover.
I addded my 2 cents.
2nd will be next week.
I really hoped Chrysler would take resposibility.
No way in H*** right now I will ever buy another Chrysler product.
I like everything about the truck but this seat....and some other things...rust....oat..more.
Its the way they are dealing with me that is not acceptable.

They all do this. When I had problems with my nissan this is the same thing I got. I have had many casual conversations with people in the legal field and marketing, this is what they are told to do. Fix it under warranty, that's what is for. The second they agree that something is wrong with the truck, or their manufacturing process, it opens a can of worms that just can't be closed. . .
Unfortunatley it doesn't matter if you by a ford, chryler, gm, kia, whatever this is the response that you will get. Everytime. Now, how the dealer handles it is another story. Some manufactures make it easier for the dealer to take care of the customer, as in over-nighting parts, covering "questionable" claims and repeated replacements.
When I worked at the local H-D dealership, I had a good relationship with Harley and I even kept parts in stock once there was a trend of just two bikes that needed repair under warranty. Besides, it's easy free money for the dealer, sometimes the labor doesn't pay max what a customer would, but hey repairs taken somewhere else make ) dollars. . .

Some of you know I had a 2009 Dodge Ram Crew Cab.
Had its seat cover replaced at 800 miles.
Needed a longer bed. When I sold the truck it needed a new seat cover at 1400 miles.
Heres pictures of my 09 Dodge Quad seat at 662 miles.

I have a Sport production date 09-08 and I have zero problems with the seats. I have 1600 miles so far and they still loook showroom(as they should). Wonder the production dates of the guys having problems. Could it be a bad batch of leather?
I'm fixing to order my truck and will go with the stock sport seats so I don't have to deal with the leather ones.

I just spent 2 hours at the dealship.
I looked at every intersting vehicle on the lot. Got new wiper motors per the recall.
There are sports with leather trim and a fabic down the center. Those seat look nice...and sturdy. They are checking into installing that cover on all of my seats. I told them to disable the ventilation if that was an issue.
Mine is the heated and ventilated seats. Has a prefforated material that I think is a thin katskin leather. Its that crap that deforms. Has holes all in it for air to pass through.
Look close at the above pictures you can see the tiny holes.
I would have never gotten this seat again but it was part of a package that had everything else I wanted. I knew I would have this problem and my family gives me enough grief. Chrysler needs to fix it and they will before I quit.
Disscussed earlier was the fact I am thin. My upper torsoe sits on the preforrated material.
My butt fits in the are between the leather trim, entirely on the preforrated material
Those that use the seat side to side do not seem to be having a problem.
I am trying to be nice. I think you see my point. Spread the load no problem. Just my and others oberservation. This thread has been going for awhile..read through it.
They ordered a new seat cover today. They aslo killed my remote start.
Get to go back later in the week.
Hopefully with some real answers. Today they took pictures and sent them to engineering.
That got a new cover on the way.
Service director says he is going to get with the big boys about this.
I explained again Chrysler told me to take it in each time it wears. This time under 650 miles on the odo.....I figure once a month....and so does this dealership.
They are looking harder for a permanent fix now.

The general manager at my dealerahip said Chrysler is watching this thread.
I sent Chrysler the link.
They will be glad to know you do not have a problem.
I'm pleased you do not have the issue. I do!
