A crossover could still be installed before the sub in the enclosure I would think. O don't know for sure as my truck is on it's way here now, currently in Chicago at the interchange.
you could put a crossover in, but snce the frequency is already filtered before it gets there it would be pretty ineffective. it would sort of be like adding flowmasters between the engine and the stock mufflers....
Nothing fancy just some no name brand Qpowers for now soon to replace with some kicker comps.but the box fits like a glove and it only costed 55 bucks. will put picks up soon.
I have the '09 Ram sport with the Alpine system, but I have no idea exactly what type of speakers are in there. I know the amp is ~500watts. Anyone know the max wattage you can push to each speaker? Or preferably the specific model of speaker?
I attempted to remove the sub from the enclosure today, but it wouldn't come out, seems maybe I have to take the enclosure out first, possibly there is something underneath tying up the wires or something else, Im not sure. Has anyone removed the sub from the enclosure and tested the impedance of the woofer to see if a drop in replacement was possible? I noticed the sub was pretty much a paper cone'd piece of junk that if replaced by maybe a kicker comp VR (which is efficient down to .4 cuft) there might be significant difference.
