I'm glad I'm not the only one dooped by the "Clad covers". They still look awesome though.

You guy's up north will love then after a nice winter snow when they salt the roads. Those babies dont rust, I've seen premium aftermarket wheels rust after being in salt.

Oh they will last for sure because our hubcaps are formed from durable recycled milk gallons.

Dodge has been using "chrome clad" wheels for years. My 02 QC had them. They held up wheel, but watch the brake dust, it will etch in a bit if you leave it on for several months like I do. I did notice on my 09 Sport OEM wheel, that there is no lip for the exterior wheel weight. When we need new tires, how is the tire shop going to balance them. I noticed from the factory, there are no exterior weights, but there are some stick on weights on the inside surface of the wheel with standard clip on being used on the inside surface.

I put new tires on and they stuck the weights on the inside, no problem.

I was pissed for a few min but how can you get mad when they look so good. And should be easy and cheap to get fixed in the future.

Dealer told me the whole wheel needs to be replaced if one gets mucked up and you want it replaced. Not as cheap as I'd hoped.

Chrome clad wheels are money makers for automakers. Eliminates cost of polishing/chroming. I've seen plastic chrome cladding delaminate/crack from water getting behind and freezing. Bare aluminum outer edge is prone to pit with corrosion. Compared to a real chrome wheel "plastichrome" gives distorted reflections...they don't have a rich/deep shine...also attract brake dust like the plague...real PITA to keep clean.

Now Now Bountyhunter, they still have better shine than the painted OEMs on your truck!
