Ordered!
You either have to call the 800 number and give them your VON, and then when you get your VIN, you can give them that. Or, as in my case, have your salesman update you. Mine emails it to me every morning it changes. Mine is finished and waiting for a spot on a rail car now. Then he said he would track it on car for me.
Hi. I ordered a loaded Laramie 4x4 on Mar 18. MSRP is $50,540. The March promo was Employee Price $43,887; -$1,000 Regional Cash; -$1,000 Chrysler Financing Cash; -$1,153 credit for "free" Hemi; +$125 dealer fee. Net price is $40,859 ($9,681 off MSRP). I thought that was a pretty good deal but evidently not. How did you get $11k off MSRP? Any help is most appreciated as truck didn't arrive yet so there's still time for further negotiation with the dealer. Thanks!
Hey ORSN, I just negotiated it down as low as I possibly could and stuck to my guns. I had $2500 in rebates, then he notified me that as of April, I got and additional $500 rebate applied. I have an advantage that I am not home and doing all this via internet. I didn't have that beautiful truck sitting there calling my name and whispering "buy me buy me" during negotiations. I just gave him numbers via email, he countered and we went back and forth. When it got to a point where neither of would budge, I waited a few days with no communication and he wrote and accepted.
Just come up with a number that you can both live with. The dealer is not going to give you a car, but there are a lot of ways he can lower the price and still make money.
Oh, and I also pitted 3 dealers against each other as well. That helped a lot. When one would not budge, I just told him that another had already beat his deal. I didn't reveal sources, but I didn't lie either. They are going to know when a deal is too good to be true.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for the reply. For some reason I was thinking the dealer didn't have a lot of room left to negotiate further after the EP and other incentives. I guess I still have some work to do. Thanks again ... and thank you for your service!
I guess this is an official ORDERED thread.
I just got a call from my dealer and he said that he's got the VIN number for me already. I placed my order on Monday and dealer said that normally orders get picked up like in a week or so. I got mine picked up 2 days after. So let's hope its gonna be faster than 6 weeks.

How long does it usually take from the time the order has been picked up from the dealer by the factory and VIN issued and the time the vehicle is ready?
Also how do you guys track your vehicles while in production???
Thanks

mine took 7 days from start to finish, you can call the dealer for a update or you can call chrysler customer service and give your von or last 8 of your vin.after vehicle is finished they tell you 3-4 weeks until vehicle arrives at dealer
My dealer told me mine was built Tuesday (4/7). It's waiting for final inspection. And could ship this week. He wasn't given a delivery date yet. But he said he had notice for another customer that their delivery would be April 6. But it hasn't arrived yet. So I'm guessing delivery dates are fluid.
If you'd like something to read while you're waiting on your new Ram to arrive. On the Dodge website I found a copy of the 2009 Ram 1500 Operators Manual that you can download for free.
It's only 525 pages.
So get busy reading.
