I have a 2009 2500 so it's NOT the new body style. Has anyone put a MOPAR tailgate lock on their 2009 2500? The guy in parts at the stealership says the tailgate lock will only fit the NEW body style. Thanks!

I have a 09 Laramie with no locking tailgate. I installed the Factory Back up camera and it comes with a new handle with the lock included. This thread was a big help. It provided me the other part numbers I needed. I also installed the remote solenoid for the locking tailgate. Hardware is all installed. Now I need to wire it.

I also drilled out a hole on the other side of the handle for an aftermarket backup camera I bought on ebay for 60 bucks, looks pretty clean.
What camera did you purchase. I want to do the same thing. I currently have a license plate camera and I want it higher up.

Glad to see this tread is still trucking along.

I just ordered these parts today and the dealer insisted that the lock cylinder was NOT included with the handle.
I read in one of the earlier posts that the lock cylinder was included with the handle. Is this something new that it's xtra???

I bought the factory back up camera, It comes with the locking tailgate handle. In my case my truck did not have the locking tailgate. Buying the back up camera solved 2 problems for me. I still had to buy the other parts but you don't need the handle

Your dealer doesn't know. The handle comes with the locking cylinder. I bought the cylinder and had to send it back cause one was already included.

I wish dealers knew more about their vehicles and the avaliable spare parts. Those years are long gone.

I believe this is where I found it. But the retail price in Canada is over $150! I'll double check the invoice when I get to work.

Yes, that is the correct number. $157.00 Canadian. It comes with everything you need except solder.
