MyGig Lockpick Owners
I have a 2009 Dodge Ram with the MYGIG. I purchased a Lockpick for it and have experienced the same audio dropouts that others here have. I emailed support@coastaletech.com and Carlos called me back. He told me he was unaware of any audio dropout issues so I emailed him a link to this thread so he could see that others even mentioned they talked to Carlos about this problem. I asked for him to send me a new one and I would send mine back so they could see the problem. He said the best he could do was to try to troubleshoot it over the phone so I called the company at 1 800-507-2234 and talked to Brent. He was not willing to do anything for me even after I explained to him that I have been having this problem since day 1.
Obviously, I'm not the only one to be having audio dropout issues so they are not being truthful when saying they know nothing about this problem. Also, they are not helpful at all when you have a problem, they simply say they are unaware of the issue.
Not a company I would recommend buying anything from based on the way I have been treated and others here have been treated.
BUYER BEWARE WHEN DEALING WITH COASTAL TECH!

Haha, yeah, I had to deal with Carlos too. He flat out lied to you when he said he was unaware of any audio drop outs. I know because I dealt with Carlos and told him the exact same thing. He probably lied to me too because he acted as if I was the first person to call them with that complaint. I still have his e-mails. I sent him a link to a thread on this forum too discussing the audio drop outs. What a snake... Anyway, I agree Coastal Tech is one of the worst customer service companies out there. I was treated poorly too.
So has Carlos worked it out with any of you guys. I been having mine for about 2 years and it still has audio drop outs. I called carlos about 5 times and he kept telling me they were working on it and he would call me back. That never happened.
He fed me that line about 3 times before I said I wanted to speak to a manager about getting a full refund. After that every time I called they told me that the managers were out or busy and they would call me back, but they never did. Finally one time a called and a manager answered the phone. I had to restrain myself to remain polite, but I went through the history of my problem with their product and my dissatisfaction with their being able to resolve it and asked for a refund. He reluctantly agreed to do it. Never again will I give them any business. It was like pulling teeth the entire process. Persistence paid off though in the end.
Hopefully people who are researching the MYGIG LockPick check out this thread BEFORE they decide to purchase. It is very frustrating to purchase a product that doesn't work properly and then get poor customer service after the sale. No one likes to be lied to and treated poorly. If their product is not working correctly you would think it would be in their best interest to work on it and solve the problem rather than acting like there is none. I dont like to bad mouth a business but it is my only recourse since I have paid for a product that DOESN'T WORK CORRECTLY!!!
VERY FRUSTRATING!
At this point I am looking for a alternative. Suggestions???

NavTV sells the AllGig, which does everything the Lockpick advertises except it won't cut out your audio. Its a little more expensive, but they're customer service is phenomenal. I bought a low speed AllGig unit off of craigslist without realizing it was the low speed unit. I needed a high speed for my Jeep. I called AllGig and asked if there was a software flash that could make the low speed unit compatible with my high speed MyGig. They said no, but told me to send it in and they would exchange it for me at no charge. One week later I had my new high speed unit in the mail. I didn't even buy the low speed unit from them. It was bought used. They exchanged it for me for free anyway, even though they could have in their own right told me to go pound sand. Now compare that customer service with Carlos at Coastal Tech... The slightly higher price of the AllGig is WORTH EVERY PENNY in my opinion.
