I think it depends on a) the model and b) the color and c) your desired appearance.
I went looking for a Laramie with RamBox and in red. The one the dealer had with RamBox in red had the side steps looked kid-like to us. We arent 17, we're 38/40. I'm not sure about the brown interior either with red and chrome.
So we ended up with Austin Tan, no RamBox, and I am a happy man. I know I'm getting old, now I have bought a brown truck and think it looks great!

I will be putting on a set, but I am not buying the over priced mopar, but also will not by the $150 set of the month. I am waiting for Nasta to get their bars out. Had them on my 05. Not one spec of rust on them, and by them I mean every component down to the nuts and bolts holding them on.
The truck is high enough that a lack of bars can cause shorter people issues getting in and out. Does not affect me,I am 6'2", but I know a few short girls it bothers. Do not **** off the women, they can make your life hell.
