The story of the truck I ordered but never got has been beat to death elsewhere but the point here is that They Don't Do Anything.
Well I purchased a REN mygig radio from ebay(a guy in michigan that works at a dealership bought it from a customer who upgraded) so I bought the Uconnect kit for that radio in my truck. I called dealer and said I got it all installed radio works, even satellite works just the Uconnect has to be Starscanned in. There was other RRT's and 2 recalls, he said .5 hours to Starscan the module and they will add the radio and the unconnnect to the VIN so it shows up if another dealer needs to know. Anyway 7 hours later they want to charge me 120 bucks I said screw that, they said half then....and its not even working???? I paid just so my wife could come home, 50 miles out of the city. Anyway what I didn't know yet was she had already paid a half hour labour earlier and they were gonna let her come home with it not working even said on the bill. She assumed it was working tried it luckily called me they had to endure my rath about why they would not tell her its not working. They also did an oil change which they tried to charge for that no one asked for. Well the next day I took it to a dealer here in town they said half hour...I explained to them what happened they said bring it in....well they ran into some issues from 10 to lunch they said since I installed it they have to take it apart and make sure the installation is good so make a long story short they checked it, I disassembled it to save myself that time they only charged one hour after workind 7 hours also one it finally discovering it was something in the way they loaded the Star Scan for everything including the updates, rrrts, and recalls. They were all taken out, reloaded and alll is working. I called Customer Service here in Canada and told them the scoop and since the dealership here in town said they cannot charge if they don't get it working but they did and I was happy to pay them the hour, but I wound up paying 2 days before 120, I told Customer Service I am a fair guy and since it was getting close to time for an oil change I will eat that since they did one if they will refund the charges for trying to get my uconnect working since they never got it working. I got a check on Friday for $62 and change for Customer Service not the dealer. I told them I think a lot of people from what I am reading here and hearing from people this is not new, we are paying for on the job training....which is BS. I am not going to remain faithful to the dealer I bought it from since they also lied to me, told me they had 600 in labour and a bay tied up. I think the problem is they only have the cheap hand held model, I don't know but I am told there are two...I think I have told this story 5 times now. Don't give up on Customer Service just be nice they understand. I f you start out with guns blazing good luck.

Well, after a month and and a half, my keyless entry quit again. I was at my doctor's office and needed something from my truck. When I got out, I locked it with the fob. When I tried to get back in the fob was useless. I repeatedly pushed every button and nothing. I then used the key to open the door, and as I opened the door the alarm went off, I put the key in the ignition and started the truck, but the alarm kept blasting away. I shut the truck off and tried pushing every button again including the Panic button and still nothing, in fact, the alarm frequency changed to a slightly quicker speed. I pushed the Panic button again and the alarm speed changed back to the slower honks.

I went back into my doctor's office horn ablatsting. I gave them the paperwork and told them that the keyfob was dead and the alarm should reset in a couple of minutes. When I sat down one of the ladies in the waiting room told me to try the panic button, it sometime works on her Caravan. I told her that I tried every button to no avail, but I'll try it again. This time the painic button stopped the alarm.

I've owned many vehicles with keyless entry systems, but they have always worked unless the battery went dead. But what it is with this one? Didn't Chrysler learn anything when Daimler was their parent company?

It's going back to the dealer this week when my seat cover shows up. Maybe they can find that thunk in the rear of the truck that sounds like something's rolling in the bed too.

There is another post on this page about the fix for the issue.

I found when it happens to be I just press and hold the lock button and within 30 seconds it starts working.

So is there a proper fix? Mine does this once in a while too...and pressing and holding lock, and then unlock, eventually it works. There has to be some type of fix.

No alarm or remote start on mine, but increasing trouble with the FOB. Seems to happen a couple of times a day now, I just stand there pressing the button until it opens (5-20X). It happens sometimes too when I get out of the truck and try to lock the doors with the button on the armrest, not just the FOB. Took it to the dealer a couple of weeks ago and complained about the door locks and thump in the rear end that "Thatmarkguy" described above.

Dealer said the problem with the locks was just the relay "overheating" and to give it a few seconds. Thump in the rear end is just clerance in the gears for thermal expansion, in either case, perfectly normal! How stupid do those folks think I am? I can't believe they actually expect customers to believe the stories they make up on the spot just to cover their butts! Guess I'm goning to have to find a new shop (or at least a different mechanic).

I think it is something specific to the 1500 key fobs my wife has a Dodge caravan with a key fob and we have no problems with it at all. I wonder if it has anything to do with the location of the receiver.

Has any of the dealers tried different fobs, even if they don't work they can take them back. I think they Chrysler will not okay that.

You know what is really strange, I can always lock the truck when I leave it, but it's the unlocking that is the problem.

It goes both ways for me, sometimes I have to push it repeatedly to get it to lock. As I have said before, it seems to happen more often when I have been traveling longer distances without stopping. It is VERY frustrating, I have never had a remote lock/unlock act like this. My Titan fob worked flawlessly for all the years I owned it on the original battery. There must be a solution.
